I kind of want to see the Ant-Man movie set up like Honey I Shrunk the Kids. I really hope it's a comedy too.

Liking the Ant-Man news. Lad that they're mixing Crossfire and Yellowjacket instead of just using the former, that'd be weird. Getting a Van Dyne in the film is nice as well.

Edit: I'm dumb. Mistook Darren for William Cross. To be fair, that episode of Avengers:EMS didn't help.

Them having a daughter together doesn't necessarily rule it out. Her surname is Van Dyme after all and not Pym.

Maybe they wanted to keep Janet as Hank's love interest but still wanted to give Scott a love interest connected to Hank?

Or it may not be touched on, and Janet just passed away while Hank was more engrossed in work than family, leading to Hope changing her name. I see Disney vetoing marital abuse storylines.

@v_scarlotte_rose: I understand your disappointment with all of that except for the Yellowjacket being a separate character. It's not like that hasn't happened in the comics.

But I completely agree with the Ultron thing (although I've been expecting it since Next Avenger and Avenger:EMS) and the Hope Van Dyne thing to a lesser extent.

Is no one going to comment about Brolin walking on stage wearing the Infinity Gauntlet? I mean REALLY? That pretty much confirms the rumor he is Thanos!

@avenging_x_bolt: I probably would have been more accepting if it had been Rita DeMara or Skrull-Pym. I suppose we'll have to wait and see if it makes sense in the story.

I'm just so confused about why they're leaving Hank out. This film is sounding like it's several sequels into a series, rather than a first one.

Was hank being abusive even explored that much in the 616? It seems like people describe it as a bigger deal than the comics actually made it. Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought Hank hit her in one issue and he eventually apologized and it was mostly let go. Is there much more to the story that happened on panel?

I was overall pretty bummed by the severe lack of announcements made this year at SDCC. I mean, legendary had the best announcements and those were just that certain characters would be in the next godzilla movie. Don't get me wrong i'm sure the con was really fun, but I'd of hated to be standing in line all day just to hear a bunch of things we either already know, or were expecting (Guardians 2, josh brolin as thanos, mood of ultron, etc.). I was hoping DC would announce who will be playing shazam or dr. strange from marvel but I guess those cards just didn't fall in line. Ah well, all the panels that marvel has been posting on their youtube page have been pretty cool.

I know he was confirmed, but we haven´t seen a photo of him until now.

I don't know who James Spader or Paul Bettany are.

Anyway, looking through these previous posts, lots of people are saying Vision is in Age of Ultron. I hadn't heard about that, but it it't true, I am so excited!

Man I'm shocked that Marvel didn't go for the Fatality on DC. To me Comic-con is the where you make your statement it's where you stay "come spend your money on this". Why not go all out...

Marvel: Where is Doctor Strange? No Cap 3 title? No Thor 3 title? It was their time to drop the mike on DC/Warner.

DC: Oh aw we get Wonder Woman's costume and a little bit of teaser footage. They could have at least dropped Shazam at this point. It was their time to steal the show and they really didn't

The more I hear about the Ant-Man movie, the more depressed I am. It's becoming more and more clear to me that Hollywood will never give the saga of Ant-Man the same respect that Ant-Man: Season One gave him.

Wouldn't you? They're trying to establish Pym and Lang in a good light. Touting Pym as a wifebeater wouldn't exactly be great for his image this early.

@savagepizza: it was announced a while back I believe. It has also been stated that Cross/Yellowjacket was Hanks ORIGINAL protege before things soured so that suggests that other Scott is his new one. They're also digging deep into Scott's history for this movie and have been pushing him hard as Ant-Man in the comics and alternate media so it seems obvious at this point

@v_scarlotte_rose: Darren Cross was the villain from Scott's origin story so I'm sure that might have a bit to do with it. He's also Crossfire's brother so that could open some doors. And there's still room for Hank to become Giant-Man

Also, is it just me or does it seem like Ant-Man expecting to release in July 2015 seems a bit unrealistic? What with all of the delays and them barely starting filming next month. Unless I've got the wrong idea of how long it takes to film a superhero movie.

Well there wasn't really any delays, Marvel had gotten Peyton reed as soon as Edgar left, and they already replaced Patrick Wilson with someone who was already in the movie( Corey Stoll).

Everything sounds cool, but I was hoping for news about what the Cap 3 title will be, as well, as news about some of the other unannounced movies. Maybe there will be more announcements tomorrow.

All of the Avengers are going to die in this film except Iron Man, he's going to use the time gem to reverse it all most likely.

Joss Whedon did say the theme of this movie would be "death,death, and more death".

Cool news, but I wasn't surprised by any of it...

so they have less than 11 months to get the antman movie ready for release (that includes filming, adding cgi, special effects, audio,editing the movie and anything else that i may have forgot) good god thats fucking terrible to news to find out about this movie

That's all it is. Just something that was made too much of a big deal. He wasn't even the only one who abused his wife because Mr. Fantastic did the same thing and no one remembers that. At least Hank has Ultron as an excuse.
