Scott Pilgrim Cartoon to Hit Adult Swim

This is the first I’ve heard of there being a toon to join the multi-media comic/print/soundtrack/video game blitz that’s accompanying SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD’s release in a couple weeks. If this is the first that any word’s gotten out about this, then Adult Swim’s marketing team gets 5000XP for keeping this under wraps as long as they have. Anyway, here’s the skinny from Slashfilm…

SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE ANIMATION will be premiering, in two parts, on Adult Swim at Midnight on the 12. It’s a four minute toon directly adapting a scene from the second SCOTT PILGRIM OGN which didn’t make the cut in the movie - - a scene about the founding Scott’s band, Sex Bomb-Omb. It’s produced by kickass animation studio Titmouse, who’s been behind METALOCALYPSE, GI JOE: RESOLUTE and that awesome PRO sizzle reel from a couple weeks back. Movie stars Michael Cera, Allison Pill, Mae Whitman and Jason Schwartzman will be lending their voices to short as Scott, Kim Pine, Lisa and Simon Lee, respectively. You’ll have to head over here to check out the video (and it is pretty rad) but, as you can tell from all these screenshots, the short’s in the exact same style as the comic. == TEASER ==

I was hosting a panel during that secret movie screening that happened at Comic Con, so I haven’t gotten to see the flick myself, but everybody I've talked who came out of that show said they dug it. Even Inferiorego liked it enough. I’m just so torn, though... it’s opening up against THE EXPENDABLES! If only they were on a double-feature!
