There's a new Scooby-Doo TV show coming your way. Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated premieres tonight, Monday July 12 on Cartoon Network at 7 p.m. ET/PT. When I first heard that another new series was coming, I'll admit, I was scared. And I'm not talking scared the way Shaggy and Scooby usually get when they come across the "monster" of the episode.

Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy and Scooby are all back. I watched the first episode with my daughter (L'il G-Girl) in order to give you guys two perspectives on this new series. The idea here is ghosts and monsters may exist but it's up to the gang to uncover the truth. Also, they won't just be dealing with paranormal activites, they'll be dealing with situations that come up in their families and personal relationships in the group.

What did we think about the show?

It starts out with a new intro. It's mondern yet has a slight classic feel. L'il G-Girl approved. It's nice that we get to see more on the kids' background, including their families. Although, one thing we noticed was Fred's dad wasn't the same from what we've seen in a previous series. Hmm...did Fred's parents divorce and his mom get remarried? We also get to see Daphne's siblings.

The show was pretty good. It holds up to the memory of the classic episodes while having an updated feel. How many times have we seen Shaggy and Scooby pose as bait? This time they are forced to dress up as girls. What was a nice touch was Shaggy asking why they had to dress up as girls when they actually had two girls with them.

After we watched, I asked L'il G-Girl what she thought. She liked it. She said the gang acted a little differently but she liked it. She commented on Velma "liking" Shaggy and also enjoyed seeing their families. She said she does want to watch the show when it's on.

Success on Warner Bros.' part. They've managed to bring back Scooby and the gang with updates but still retaining who they are supposed to be. Fred and Scooby are voiced by Frank Welker (What's New, Scooby-Doo?, Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get a Clue!, Dexter's Laboratory, Transformers). Mindy Cohn (The Facts of Life, What's New, Scooby-Doo?, Shaggy & Scooby Get a Clue!) voices Velma. Grey DeLisle (Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, The Replacements, The Super Hero Squad Show) voices Daphne. Matthew Lillard (Scooby-Doo films, Robot Chicken, Scream) voices Shaggy.

If you're a Scooby-Doo fan, check the show out and see what you think. This is also a great time to introduce the Scooby Gang to any younger siblings you might have.

Here's some images and a couple videos to get a taste of what you can expect.
