Deadpool is literally a year away from hitting theaters, with a scheduled release date of February 12th, 2016, and today, the star of the film, Ryan Reynolds, posted a picture on Twitter of what the prototype for the mask looks like.

The mask looks pretty faithful to the comic, but as Reynolds states, this is a prototype. However, a ballerina pink mask could bring in a few chuckles if it were featured in a scene.
Reynolds will be reprising his role as the Marc with a Mouth Wade Wilson from the 2009 film X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which strayed pretty far from the source material, as far as Deadpool goes, and disappointed fans, especially since so many were excited for the prospect of seeing Deadpool on the big screen. With the leaked test footage that came out, and this mask reveal, it looks like the film will stick closer to the character, and Reynolds should easily be able to tackle the role again, and fans should be pleased, as long as the film has a bit more of a comedic edge.
Deadpool is expected to hit theaters February 12th, 2016.
