Rumor: See Who's In The 'Justice League' Movie Roster

It looks like Warner Bros. has 5 key characters in mind for their first Justice League film!

Speculating over the initial roster has been good fun and all, but now one website claims to know the final characters that made the cut for Justice League.

According to Latino Review, the initial team will consist of the following five characters: Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, and The Flash.

Right now you're probably wondering, "What gives? Why didn't ____ make the cut?" Well, the website claims a cameo from Martian Manhunter or Aquaman is possible. A Hawkman appearance is also a possibility, but less likely.

Since the 2015 film is allegedly going with a Darkseid story, I'd wager that a cameo from J'onn J'onzz is most likely and, if we're lucky, there could be an Arthur Curry easter egg thrown in there (something as simple as a mention of Atlantis would be appreciated).

I'm surprised there's no mention of Cyborg since he's been a decent part of The New 52 and is even making an appearance in 'Injustice: Gods Among Us.' Oh well, I say the smaller the roster, the better. The general audience knows Superman and Batman's story very well by now, and Green Lantern's origin story was already thrown out there. This should give them more time to shed a little more light on Wonder Woman and The Flash without bogging down the primary story. The website also says Warner Bros. is still searching for a director.

Viners, are you happy with this potential roster? Sound off below!

So DC added Cyborg to Justice League as an effort to show greater diversity and the cast of the movie is all white characters. Synergy... synergy...

@MSchiwal said:

@redscare: unless they use Jon Stewart as the Green Lantern

It'll still be a train wreck if they decide to go with Common like they wanted to. I would say give The Rock a try at John Stewart. He cant be any worse than Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan...

Ryan Reynolds was actually a great Hal Jordan. Having Dwayne Johnson as John Stewart wouldn't make much sense in the way of diversity seeing as how they are not the same ethnicity. His father was of Black Nova Scotian origin and his mother is Samoan. The fact of the matter is, The Rock just isn't black enough.

Disappointed that they might exclude Aquaman from the JL movie, but I would still see the movie and I wouldn't mind if they present him at the end as they introduce a new threat for the next movie, the invasion by Atlantis.

Posted by Funrush

Just add Aquaman.

Wow, you're in the most minimal defined minority group on that opinion, lol.

Posted by telepathic666

this is either going to be great or awful

Posted by MikeStark

Why do people think just because Aquaman & Martian Manhunter haven't been confirmed by this RUMOR, they think there not in it? It says they still may be in it... idiots

Posted by batsymyplaything

@MikeStark: Well, they don't want a cameo from those characters . They want the characters to be involved as a leading or close to supporting role.

Posted by theOVOXO

So no Hawkgirl, Aquaman, nor Martain Manhunter??? I hope a rumor is just what it is.

Posted by nappystr8

While I'm upset at the idea of such a small cast, it's probably the best marketing move they can make. Don't want to overload audiences with unfamiliar characters all at once.

Posted by bob808

I hope they get someone good to play Batman.

Posted by lorex

I can understand leaving the Martian out as it could take up quite a bit of time to set up the introduction. I would like to see either Aquaman or Cyborg. I think while comic book fans know Aquaman is not a weak joke as is portrayed in other media outlets it could be too much to overcome to get a suit approve it. Cyborg outside of comics is only known from the teen titans cartoon and that may have a negative affect on getting the character included. Also I think the inclusion of another woman could be good to seperate it from Avengers a bit.

No Aquaman is kinda sad...

and i don't like that MM and Cyborg will be gone, but a smaller squad is probably the best bet...

Cyborg has been a member of the JL for a year. If he made it it would be a bloody travesty.

This is the right roster for a movie.

I know...

It saddens me because I think Ryan Reynolds is a terrific actor and I have a huge hard-on for him (even though I'm a straight male.) I would totally switch teams for him.

People just didn't like the movie and so they associate Ryan Reynolds's portrayal of Hal Jordan with the movie, and think he did a bad job. He actually did a really good job and the casting was brilliant.

*looks around*

I also kind of liked the movie itself too....

Is it wise for /Warner to let Marvel corner the racial minority market with Nick Fury, War Machine, Heimdall, Maria Hill, and Falcon? There's also word that they will be putting Black Panther and Luke Cage on the big screen after Avengers 2. In the long run, Warner/ may not be able to let a market be so heavily dominated by their competitors. It's bad for business.

I can see a Luke Cage movie. I can also see a Cyborg movie or Black Lightning or Vixen. DC can also do a black Firestorm movie.

Posted by AmazingWebHead

Hey, if the Avengers was so awesome without Ant-Man & Wasp, I'm willing to believe Justice League can be awesome with just those 5.

Posted by Herx

I don't see why they couldn't incorporate the whole 7/8 roster. I mean, hell, the animated Justice Leages first story arck (which come together as a tv movie) did it so why not a live action one?

Posted by yo_yo_fun

I'm a little disappointed that Aquaman won't be part of the team, even more disappointed about the Martian. I was really excited to see J'onn J'onzz on the big screen but it makes sense.

Other than that, I'm happy with the roster!

Hey guys, if WB and DC are willing to have GL be Jon Stewart then shouldn't the choices of who should play him be of these obvious choices:

a. Idris Elba

b. Will Smith

....that's all I could think of

And J'onn should be played by Djimon Hounsou

Oh very good choice! The only reason I would likely go with a or b is the fact that he looks too young, that and I'd like to see how he performs in "42" (you know see him in a star role, because the other two already have that "star power" factor).

Good reasons! I just think "a" may not be affordable even if he is cool. And "b" may look old next to Cavill even though he is awesome enough to play Bond and GL

well if they add another female, hopefully it will be Vixen.

def a good roster, but god damn it Martian Manhunter better at least make an appearance!!!!!!!

Good safe roster so far, really hope MMH makes it in the movie, Aquaman too.

Posted by RedheadedAtrocitus

This is actually not too bad, but I wouldn't put too much stock into the info just yet. If its true though I'm actually quite pleased with this roster so far for the film.

Posted by ravisher

i dont want to see it anymore

give lesser known heroes a chances too

i wish aquaman was in it

If Aquaman isn't in this film I won't even watch it

It'd be extremely difficult to incorporate him in a way that won't make people think of at least one fish joke. He can appear in later dates and I know he's a badass under the right writer and treatment but for a film, I'm afraid he carries that legacy with him. It would be better to stick with these 5 and set up Aquaman for later.

It doesn't matter if non-comics don't like him, it's not going to be the deciding factor of whether they see the film or not, nobody will say "Oh Aquaman is in this? I'm not gonna watch it" but everybody will say "What? Superman and Batman are in this? I'm in" all it takes is one scene of Aquaman leaping out the water and stabbing Darkseid in the face with a trident and pepole will eventually come around

I hope that happens

Posted by Sobe Cin

@mk111: No as fans of DC you will HAVE to watch the movie. But without Aquaman it just isn't worth it.

Posted by mk111

@ravisher:

Well, you never know. Aquaman can still cameo.

Posted by aaunderoath

No Aquaman? :( now my dream of seeing Aquaman controlling a horde of sharks to jump out of the water at parademons. Like in that 1 issue of JL I can't remember the issue # of :/

Posted by hawkeye321

@jinxuandi: The Truth.

Posted by BiteMe-Fanboy

oooo. I'm ALL for a Hawkman cameo.

Posted by markslurpee

Never been a huge DC fan, but I've always loved Justice League. Shame there's no Aquaman, but I'm actually pretty excited.

Posted by Cavemold

id be ok with 5 . Seems most likely.

Posted by JamDamage

figured there would be Marian Munhunter in this as well. What ever. At least there won't be to many characters. Maybe they thought having one more character would take away from one of the charters. Avengers had 7, I'm counting Nick Fury as one of them, and Hawkeye didn't enought time. Making it 5 sounds it could work better then 6. Still tho. Manhunter would have been a great idea on screen. Oh well.

Posted by Apis

With a cast of five ,these are the best choices. I will miss J'onn however.

Can't wait to see Flash on the big screen.

Posted by Galactic_Man

It's hilarious how we continue to receive more "rumors" about this film yet they've all already been mentioned or speculated :P When you think about it, we haven't received jack about this movie, at least we've gotten proper updates from other films being released in 2015 like Avengers 2, FF and POTC.

Posted by homosexuality

Cyborg will be in the movie to add diversity like how they had Nick fury in it.

Posted by Superdork

I'm only okay with these two two rosters:

One:

Two:

Otherwise, I hope this movie ****ing bombs.

Posted by colonyofcells

Warner Brothers does seem to be more secretive about their movie plans or maybe they really don't have a plan yet. Maybe they are waiting to see if the weaker marvel movies will flop such as Guardians of the Galaxy, Ant man and dr strange. Many of the dc properties were created for kids so can be harder to translate to movies for teens and adults, and easier to translate to cartoons for kids.

Posted by OutlawRenegade
Posted by colonyofcells

In another universe reboot, maybe both Superman and Batman can become black like what happened to the movie Perry White, Green Lantern could become Hannah Jordan.

Posted by irishking44

John Stewart GL is the boringnest one. I really hope they keep it as Hal Jordan instead of cheapening the story with Stewart for diversity for the sake of it

Posted by Clark_EL

@Outside_85 said:

With that small a cast, at least use Steward as the GL.

No, Hal needs to be in it.

Posted by Outside_85

@Clark_EL: Why?

Posted by G_Money_Christmas

As long as MM at least makes an appearance I think I'd be okay. I agree, too big of a roster could do more harm than good and those are the main 5.

Oh, I almost forgot. I'll direct it! I have zero directorial experience but I think I'd be a good fit.

Posted by AmazingWebHead

It's not really a Justice League movie unless it's the big 7. Worry about anyone else (Cyborg, Green Arrow, etc) in the sequels.

@mk111 said:

I'm kinda glad that Aquaman won't be here. What could he add to the film?

<= That.
