Rick Remender Adds More Members to UNCANNY AVENGERS Roster

With so many Avengers and X-Men to choose from, it's no surprised there will now be nine members.

If you've read the first issue of UNCANNY AVENGERS, you know we already have quite the roster. The roster currently consists of Havok, Captain America, Wolverine, Rogue, Thor and Scarlet Witch. It was a little odd that Cap asked Havok to lead this squad despite other leaders such as himself, Wolverine and Rogue being on the team. We also saw some conflict between Rogue and Scarlet Witch.

To make things more complicated, it's been announced that in issue #5, Rick Remender will be adding three more characters to the roster.

Wasp, Wonder Man and Sunfire are coming to the team. We've already seen that apparently Wonder Man has been forgiven for his action against the team in the pages of THE AVENGERS.

It was mentioned that Wolverine and Sunfire have some "business" to resolve. Wonder Man will be a pacifist and P.R. guy for the team. Perhaps we'll see the return of his feelings for Scarlet Witch? Wasp will provide funding for the team so they don't have to rely on "government mandates."

It was also announced that Olivier Coipel will be filling in for John Cassaday on the issue. This all sounds pretty interesting.

I can honestly say that I love every member of this team. Now if only the issues were released on time...

I always found Wonder Man super lame but his recent spin as a bad-ass has done wonders for my opinion.

Sunfire was a huge surprise. Had to google where I'd seen him last.

Turns out she was never dead. They are in the process of bringing her back in the current arc of the main Avengers book iirc

Certain press releases say this Wasp funding them will cause problems for her, interesting to see how that'll turn out

Does she even have money left she has been dead? As for cash really Wolverine can grow diamonds on his front yard. Rogue inherited a fortune. And what Thor cannot chip in some Asgardian Gold. Funding should really not be a problem.

For teams like Uncanny X-men, Cable and X-Force, Uncanny X-Force, X-Factor and the Thunderbolts sure.

I don't understand all the hate for Sunfire's costume. This is his classic look, and it's clearly paying homage to his Japanese heritage. I love the AoA look as much as the next person, but it would make sense for him to go with a more normal look. Can't have any scary looking mutants on a team that is designed to show the world that mutants are nothing to be feared.

Was stoked when I heard about the addition of Sunfire then I saw the costume.... seriously when they sad down to draw this did they really look at AOA and think his original costume actually looked better? Still great to see him back in a comic, reason to actually pick this up!

LOL Agreed. In terms of Wasp, I'm sure there is probably some form of insurance procedures for public super-heroes for when they are presumed dead but come back or are reincarnated. If that's not the case, Jennifer Walters aka She Hulk should get to work drafting the appropriate legal pleadings ASAP since this happens all the time. She could trail blaze a whole new field of estate law.

I just got back into reading comics and went back to 2009 and just finishing 2011. I just don't get Marvel's cross contamination. I mean the X-men comic I just read has them fighting with the Fantastic Four against one of their enemies, and the other X-Title has them fighting in Hel vs. Thor's. I'm all for the occasional team up that goes from one title "X-Men" then into another "Fantastic Four" and finally completes back in "X-Men", but now it seems they just keep merging teams and comics to "Force" them to pickup multiple books. I can understand some mutants on the Avengers they always have had a few, and it helps with mutant/human relations. But they really don't need 50-70% of the members to be mutants just so they can get crosssales.

Also I love how everyone's like "wait what when did Wasp come back?". Probably because it happened recently in Avengers. Which everyone dropped because it was so terrible.

I hope Olivier Coipel is staying on. John Cassaday's art does nothing for me. :/
