There's much more to Thanos' apparent submission to Lord Mar-Vell than meets the eye and Nova and Star-lord will have to make a very bold move to handle the consequences of his deceit.
The Good
Thanos has always been unique in the arena of evil space lords in that, at his base, he's really just a needy "paramour" trying desperately to win a woman's approval. So I was so glad that this whole epic culminates in him losing it worse than a high schooler after a break-up. While I still have some issues about focus, the heroic catharsis this band of galactic adventurers reach made for a very satisfying, even moving, conclusion.
The Bad
I'm not going to spoil the surprise but, if you hadn't guessed from the cover, something dramatic happens to Nova and Starlord that solidifies them as the main characters of this mini. While it's a powerful scene, I think it would've been a lot more effective if they'd been more clearly established as the protagonists throughout the whole series. So many characters were squeezed into this, they often canceled each-other out.
The Verdict - 4/5
I can understand why all these cosmic books have been presented in attention-grabbing segments like this, but I wonder if a few of my issues might've been remedied by this just being an arc in an ongoing Guardians of the Galaxy title. There are enough character's to make this Marvel's answer to the Legion of Superheroes. I guess that's a way of me saying I hope this continues past the epilogue, because a two-page tie-up is an awfully abrupt cut-off (although still well-written) after such a sweeping saga.
Brilliant series with a surprising but ultimately fitting end to it. I kind of feel disappointed that Cosmic Marvel may now be without a few of its defining characters.
@theMockingNoob: Yeah Idk. I haven't read it yet so if there's any kind of hint in there I wouldn't know yet. I haven't heard anything about plans for Nova after Thanos Imperative so that's why I'm wondering.

Nova did have a solo series which led into the thanos imperative (Issue 36) and I am guessing the story will continue in the epilogue and then perhaps the groot and rocket racoon starting in January. That would be the spiritual successor to Guardian of the Galaxy and I am guessing some sort of Nova Corps series might be coming too. "
Right, I have the Nova series. What I meant was another one after Thanos Imperative has finished since I don't think he is appearing in anything else right now.

Yeah Quill is a cool character. I really like all most of the characters in this book, even ones like Cosmo and Rocket Raccoon have likable features. Abnett and Lanning are fantastic writers.
