The Good
Batman on coke, in white. That's the best way I could describe this book. This is one of those books were Millar can essentially do whatever he wants, like Kick-Ass. But unlike Kick-Ass, I actually enjoy this book, to a degree. The thing that bugged me about Kick-Ass was the cursing. There's a bit of cursing in this book, but it fits. It's realistic. Kick-Ass went a little too over the top. I'm also loving the art on here, even more so than McNiven's work on Civil War. It's crisp, clear, and detailed. (Sometimes a little too detailed in the faces of older folks. Lots of wrinkles) The one thing that really caught my eye was the facial expressions on Nemesis. Each panel completely conveys him as this snobby, egotistical, a-hole, with simple little things like how he holds his head up when he talks, or a little smirk on his face. I love/hate this character. He's a smug little jerk and written and drawn incredibly well.
The Bad
As much as I may be praising this book. I don't like the story. Maybe it's because we're only two issues in and there hasn't been too much revealed within this world, but I'm just not digging on what's going on. Sure, the amount of planning and careful steps Nemesis is taking is cool, but overall, I don't think the story is that compelling.
The Verdict - 3.5/5
This one is not for the kids. Adults only due to the rapid swearing and violence. However, overall, I'd say pick this one up because it looks like it could become a well rounded series. As of right not, the writing and art will drag you in, but the story itself is it's only weak point.
