Red Hulk's Identity Reveal Coming Real Soon

Are you ready to find out who he really is?

Ever since the Red Hulk made his debut in Hulk #1, we've been left wondering what is his real identity. One of the complaints readers had was simply the fact that we had another version of the Hulk, just with a new color. I never understood this complaint. Look at the characters similar to Spider-Man (Spider-Woman, Scarlet Spider, Mattie Franklin, Spider-Girl, etc). What about all the stretchy heroes? What made Red Hulk different is his actions proved he was pretty much as different from the Hulk as he could be. In the first issue, he shoots and kills the Abomination. To me, that made it a whole new game.

Where did the Red Hulk come from? A lot of people give the credit (or blame) to Jeph Loeb. In our interview back in October, Jeph mentions that it was Joe Quesada that approached him and asked if he was interested in writing about a "red" Hulk. Jeph then talked to Ed McGuinness and they started fleshing out his character and his origin. What we've had is simply a mystery story. We've been waiting to see who turned into the Red Hulk, how and why. And I've been loving it.

Jeph did say we would definitely be finding out who Red Hulk is. Once we do, his story will be far from over.

Incredible Hulk #609, Red Hulk's secret revealed?
When will we find out this big secret? According to Marvel's solicit information, the secret will be revealed in Incredible Hulk #609, written by Greg Pak and drawn by Paul Pelletier

WORLD WAR HULKS CONTINUES!
"Planet Hulk" was big.  "World War Hulk" was bigger.  Now with "World War Hulks," the Marvel Universe explodes with the biggest emotional story ever to hit Bruce Banner and the Incredible Hulk!   Following the mindbending twist ending of "Fall of the Hulks," everything Bruce Banner knows has been turned upside-down -- and everything he's ever desired may be just a heartbeat away.  Written by Greg Pak (PLANET HULK, WORLD WAR HULK) and drawn by Paul Pelletier (WAR OF KINGS, FALL OF THE HULKS: ALPHA), don't miss the insane action and non-stop revelations asSkaar, Son of Hulk, enters his most brutal battle, Bruce Banner faces his greatest temptation, and the secret identity of a certain scarlet smasher is finally revealed!

The issue is due in May. Those of you complaining we've been in the dark won't have to wait much longer. I do find it a little strange that the answer will be in Incredible Hulk and not the Hulk title. But in other ways, it does make sense. I have been on the edge of my seat waiting. Part of me doesn't want to read the story just yet. A lot will be riding on this revelation. I can guarantee this will be the first book I read the week it's released.

Now you have just a little bit longer to make you guess and to place your bets (not that I condone gambling). Who do you think the Red Hulk really is? Will finding out change your opinion on him?

EDIT:

Actually now that I think about it and re-read that solicit, that reveal could actually be referring to the identity of the Red She-Hulk. Pretty sneaky, Marvel...

I hope they reveal the Rulk soon, it has been getting long in the tooth

Still at least it isn't Harvey Dent

I've read all red hulk comics up until fall of hulks, could he be Glen Talbot?

Posted by jloneblackheart

I think Red She Hulk is Betty Ross. Glenn Talbot is also my best guess for Red Hulk.

After two years of waiting I do not care who the Red Hulk is. It is better that Loeb wrote a really interesting stories for/about him

It does seem that way. Were those clues or just their way of throwing us off?

@ironshadow:
that is my only guess, bringing him and Betty back and having red-she hulk and Red-Hulk is to much of a coincidence. Its kind of sad tho, bc if it is them, that will be very anti climatic. I think Banner should follow Rulk home and catch them changing back. Hes supposed to be one of marvel 8 smartest, He has been out smarting all the others since he lost the hulk persona, he should already know who it is. While red-she hulk is around fighting Skaar, Banners little detector should go off sensing Betty, then he will try to call Skaar off from fighting. and Banner will see it in her eyes

It's him.

@G-Man: I don't know about Red Hulk, but I'm convinced Red She-Hulk is Betty. After all, Leader made Red She-Hulk and they showed him interested in her body at the military base the Intelligencia broke into. I'm new to the Hulk world, so the only thing I'm unsure of is Red She-Hulk is described as mentally unstable prior to her transformation. I don't know the character well enough to know if that is true of Betty. Leader hates the Hulk, it would make perfect sense to use his love as a weapon against him.

Maybe Domino will give his identity away since she knows who he is

The fact that Red Hulk killed General Ross only furthers my belief that the Red hulk is General Ross

At this point...does anyone care?

Well, thank God that Greg Pak is back to writing the Hulk.  Picked up the Red Hulk trade over the weekend and couldn't stand the writing difference between Loeb and Pak.  While Mr. Pak actually tries to give Hulk some vocabulary skills, Loeb drags him right back down to his monosyllabic ways.  Well done, Mr. Loeb.  Can you go back to writing Batman again, where you are supremely talented ?

I also think they will reveal Red She-Hulk identity. Mostly because scarlet would be used to describe a woman.

I think it's Booster Gold.

General Ross

@Vance Astro: Obviously I do, hence the article.

I still think it's General Ryker and I agree that the red she-hulk is Betty.

My guesses  may be wrong but I don't want to spoil it.  Come on peeps, lighten up and enjoy the book.  Only one issue of the Hulk has disappointed me, although the art has been hit and miss at times.  Still worth the $ to check it out!

I hope they keep it a secret. I actually like not knowing who it is.

how would general Ryker be Rulk if in the end of Each TIH Ryker is hunting down lyra?

@Mr.Hulk_Smashin'!: If that was in the back up story I have not been reading it,  but if that is the case then I got nuthin
Posted by Jotham

It's taken so long, I really don't care anymore.

Posted by greenenvy

Hmm maybe red hulk is Ryker or Talbot  so I think its either those two. For Red she hulk I just dont want it to be Betty but maybe someone new perhaps.

the clue here is right their....
"Jeph mentions that it was Joe Quesada that approached him and asked if he was interested in writing about a "red" Hulk. "
Rulk =Joe Quesada !!!

Think about it.. its perfect. never see the two together..an any flubs from the past can be blamed on radiation poison..Rulk did it.

Editors not doing their jobs on comics .. Rulk did it....

People not happy about one more day... Rulk did it..

Cross overs goten boreing .. Rulk did it...

Ultamates seem to be what the movies are based on.. Rulk did it.

I know some people have mentioned "it's about time" we found out who Red Hulk is. It's only been two years. Look how long it took to find out Wolverine's origin, or who the third Summers brother was or who Twilight is over in the Buffy comics. I don't think two years is that long. I've been enjoying the 'guessing game.' My fear was the character would lose something once we know but it seems like there is a lot more to his story.

As long as Rulk isn't Glen Talbot and She Rulk isn't Betty Ross I'll be happy, Those are the most obvious choices for the two, I just don't want it to be that easy ya know

And what the heck is the deal with bucky, did he get a little dose of some gamma radiation or something in this sneak peak, and it that other guy weilding mjolnir?

"Hulk" isn't that great but you should definitely check out "The Incredible Hulk" if you're not already reading it....it's pretty great right now

I've kinda stopped caring and it'll probably be too complicate to follow in trades anyway

Posted by the_fallen11
Yeah, I'm going with Glen Talbot on this one.
Edited by Grim

i dont even care anymore. Hasnt it been almost 2 years now?they where saying we wouldnt have to wait too long in those first couple of months, and now here we are stil waiting another 3 for a "final revel".
ive said it before and ill say it again: i dont like obvious, LAZY tricks to boost sales. Rulk was made to pump up the Hulk movie, and this whole think where they dont tell you for two years does not strike me as necessary for the story.
 i hope it gets leaked...

Posted by jonasLighter

Sorry to say it but, I doubt that the Hulk will get the great treatment he received in Planet Hulk for many years to come.  Sadly, the best Hulk stories were those of him away from Earth. Lastly, The identities of Red Hulk and Red She Hulk had better not be some cheesy ploy to boost sales and then get a major let down in the end. ala Onslaught.

Nice about time we got to find out who Red hulk is!!!!

Posted by HaloKing343

.... Could be the RED SHE HULK. That's my guess actually. Not Red Hulk.

aaaah, good call ^_^

Granted I'm not a Hulk expert, but I always figured General Ross would never be willing to work together with the Hulk, his hatred for the Hulk wouldn't let him.....well unless it had to do with Betty. Still General Ross would be a lot more interesting than Glenn Talbot .

said it before and i will again. i dont care about who either Red actually is.
im more concerned that the writers keep focusing on story and character development,
which theyve been doing a pretty good job on as of late. im more interested in reading the
relationships between the Hulks, A-Bomb and The Intelligencia, Banner and Skaar, the three
She-Hulks and Cosmic Hulk than to care about that, and i think when they lean to much focus
on the identity thing it waters down the story. hopefully it wont become the focus again, or theyll
just reveal it, egt it out of the way, and move on to telling fresh stories and adventures starring the
characters which is making for the better read right now. that "identity" thing tends to be a stigma
with Loeb, much like the " twist ending " with Shyamalan. they think its what people get their stuff
for, but its really the better work in the volume itself. wheres the surprise when its something theyve
done before and one expects them to again. plus the whole reveal thing can be a deal breaker that
pretty much vomits on the rest of the story that was told, making it unimportant.
