Prepare Yourself For The "Brain Invaders" On Star Wars: Clone Wars

Can the Padawans survive?

This reminds me of the old horror movies.  On this Friday's Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Padawans Ahsoka Tano and Barriss Offee will face the "Brain Invaders."  The two are assigned to take a supply ship back to Republic-controlled space.  Their routine mission becomes a fight for survival when they discover that the ship has been overrun by a horde of deadly stowaways - Geonosian brain worms with the grotesque ability to control the thoughts and actions of its host.  It will be impossible to tell friend from foe.  The episode airs Friday, December 4, 2009, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on Cartoon Network.

As the two Padawans face their greatest challenge, they must try to stay committed to their Jedi teachings.  When faced with former friends as enemies, the two young women are forced to weigh the fate of the Republic against their own personal attachments.

“Due to Anakin's teaching, I do feel that Ahsoka is developing similar attachment issues. Only time will tell if those issues will play a part in her destiny,” says Ashley Eckstein, voice of Ahsoka. “Over the course of the Clone Wars so far, Ahsoka has spent most of her time with Anakin, and she is really beginning to emulate him. She is becoming more and more like her Master in every episode; we’ll see if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.”

“Maybe it’s just my own personal positive thinking, but I don’t see her going to the dark side. She just wants to be the best Padawan she can be, and ultimately prove that she deserves to become a Jedi – and sometimes that means making tough choices,” she says “One can’t overlook the overall message of Star Wars – that good will always overcome evil. Our show presents these lessons in such a cool way, and I think it’s a great message to teach kids today.”
