Wait... There's a new Conan film?

Many of us grew up with Conan, in some form. Whether it be the couple of Arnold Schwarzenegger films, the numerous comic book titles, mainly through Dark Horse or Marvel Comics, or the television show He-Man, which was originally supposed to be a Conan show. Even if you've never seen the films or comics, chances are you know who this barbarian is, and now he's making his was back to the big screen.

The Coventry Telegraph released pictures from the set of the recently wrapped-up set of the newest Conan movie, and Conan is being played by 30-year old Jason Momoa, pictured right. It's been a while since we've seen Conan in a live-action film. In fact, it's been 25 years. 1985 marked the last time Conan appeared, and at that time, he was played by Arnie, and costarring in the Red Sonja film. Aside from that, supposedly this year, Ron Perlman will be voicing Conan in the animated film, Conan: Red Nails. Those are two very big names that have taken on the role, so how will Momoa do?

Momoa may not be as beefy as his comic book counter-part, but he looks muscular enough, and he's got the hair... Now, getting away from talking about how muscular this man looks. The main thing I'm wondering is how brutal will this film be? Is it going to be violent, like "heads getting chopped off" violent? Or will this film consist mostly of slices to the chest and punches to the face in order to get a PG-13 rating? This is the place where they could easily drop the ball. Conan is about brutality and savagery. Leaving those two aspects out of the film would make it incredibly tame and boring. Nu Boyana films has this film to come to a theater near you in 2011.  What do you think? Do we need another Conan film? What would you like to see happen?
