Its sony they will make this movie some clustered. If all the villians were featured to show that Spiderman has beaten bad guys between movies then id be fine but they all have to be the MAIN villian

I really wish they'd just go with Kraven as a solo villain. I really hope they don't have the DoGS. I want the death to be built up to. If we just rush it and do it just to did we'll end up with SM3 Venom. Written into the script only because of fan demand

Oh yes, let's rush introducing all of Spider-Man's rogues in the second fil! Surely that will be a good idea.... Amazing Spider-Man was fantastic, but the more I hear about the sequel the more skeptical I become.

Remember how too many villains ruined the cinematic drudge that was Spider-Man 3? We already have Electro and Norman Osborn.

That's all I'm saying.

I hope Felicity Jones doesn't end up cast as Black Cat, they will ruin her in a movie :(

@sky-pirate: Yeah X-Men did do that. I suppose I'm thinking along of the lines of giving the enemy the depth and back story that they gave Conners in Spider-Man. In X-Men, They introduced all those characters but didn't give a back story to any of the villains except for Magneto and didn't give Storm or Cyclops a back story besides saying he was with Jean. I mean it was the first time seeing them but we didn't learn about all of those characters in depth in the first X-Men movie. Of course that movie was really good I thought so maybe all the villains don't need to be detailed as much as I'm thinking. Bad guy=does things deemed bad.

Anyway, someone mentioned the Sinister Six and I would be cool with that.

OK, as long as they keep consistency with The Amazing Spider-Man video game, since Rhino was in that.

Here I was enjoying my burrito and I came upon this. I can stomach Jamie Foxx (love some of his films, but after bragging about the racist antic of Django Unchained I've given up) as Electro, if they change up EVERYTHING about him, but freaking Rhino? Giamatti, whose last decent film was chasing Frankie Muniz through Universal Studios, playing a character like that instead of a real hard ass actor (Ron Perlman, maybe for the voice. I'd personally like to see one of the lesser known WWE guys play big horns.) I hope this travesty involves the plating suit. The hybrid idea spit in the face of the qualities I actually liked about the guy (funny antics in Spider-Man: The Animated Series and John DiMaggio voicing him in the Spider-Man 2 game).

@spinningbirdcake: The first X-Men movie introduced Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, Jean Grey, Professor Xavier, Rogue, Iceman (granted, in a smaller role), Magneto, Toad, Mystique and Sabretooth. They introduced cross-species genetics in TASM and will likely have continue with that theme, so we won't have to tackle multiple origins.

After the mid-credits scene from the end of ASM, my theory for ASM2 was that Norman Osborne would put together the Sinister Six to test the limits of Spider-Man's abilities. They just made a movie with multiple heroes work with Avengers, so it seems to me the next logical step would be to succeed where other movies have failed at the multiple villain angle. If Marvel pulled it off where others couldn't, it'd be almost as big of a success for the genre as Avengers was. Story-wise, it would make sense too, as it's already been shown that Norman Osborn has a morally depraved background. It's not that unreasonable he wouldn't have sketchy contacts amongst the criminal underworld (like Rhino, Shocker, Mysterio, Vulture, Chameleon, Sandman, Doc Ock, etc.). Him buying them off to test/capture/kill Spider-Man and failing at it as Norman observes from a distance would be the PERFECT set-up for him being the shadowy string-puller nemesis that he is, while also giving him the opening to build himself up to specifically outmatch Peter's strengths and strategically strike at his weaknesses.

Paul Giamatti would be great for the role... if he was a tank-of-a-man badass. He's still cool, though, just not as the Rhino.

@wr3h: I don't know man. I hope you're right. I'd probably enjoy seeing Spidey fight 6 villains more than I would the Avengers fight scenes. They don't all have to be humanized I guess. And he doesn't have to fight all 6 at the same time either. I'm skeptical if they announce it. I think it'd be better to have electro and rhino in this one and do the sinister 6 in the next one with good old Gobby leading them.

Honestly I think a role like Rhino would be a step down for Giamatti. He deserves a role that he can articulate, make his own. Unless they plan on humanizing the Rhino, this isn't the right role in my opinion

Haha I see what you're saying. But remember Cap, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, and Loki were already established characters before Avengers. With Spiderman they'd have to introduce Electro, Rhino, and 4 other villians unless they brought back Lizard which they'd only introduce 3. Still that's a lot of characters to introduce in one movie.

Giamatti is an outstanding actor. I back him readily in any role.

Seriously though, i think Paul Giamatti is one of the most underrated actors of all time. Rhino though? After seeing what they did with the FACE of Lizard i'm not afraid to admit i'm a little worried, but i'm really hoping it's amazing.

My first thought was that they are going way overboard with the villains again (Spidey 3 Flashbacks), isn't this the third rumored one? But then I thought about how cool the Sinister Six would be in a well made movie. So who knows.

I think with rhino, electro, harry, gwen, mj, osborn, etc, they are starting to throw way too many characters into this. It's starting to feel like Spider-Man 3 again.

There better be a lot of CG involved...

Also, having played The Amazing Spider-Man (Xbox 360), I wonder if they are going to go with the whole "cross-species genetics" version. Since, you know, that game was supposed to be a cash-grabbing last minute tie-in epilogue to the film.

The game was really great by the way, it just didn't feel like it had much to do with the film at all.

Haven't they learned their lesson about putting too many villians in a Spider-Man movie?
