Old Man Logan Part 7 Sells Out, Surprise!

A new printing is on the way.

Is there anyone really surprised that Wolverine #72 sold out?  Every single issue in the "Old Man Logan" arc has sold out.  You would think that comic shops are upping their orders with each issue yet it still sells out.  According to Marvel, this is the TENTH new printing for this arc (some issues have had multiple printings).  This is the issue Red LAMP and I talked about.  This is the one were Logan faces off against the Red Skull.  There's only one part left after this.

It is possible you might be able to find a copy left at your local comic shop.  If not, no need to worry.  A second printing will be headed towards the shelves on July 1, 2009.

Here is the variant cover for the second printing with Steve McNiven's art.

No one thought this series was going to be as big as a hit as it would have been... So, by the time everyone upped their orders, issue 71 was already out and the stores couldn't keep up with the demand... My suggestion, wait until the trade if you want to own it. But, PRE-ORDER the trade. I've read every issue, but only own this one, I can't wait for a nice hardcover trade for this series...

Yes, definitely a nice hardcover prestige format.  The bad thing is it's listed as a November 4, 2009 release.

I didn't even start reading this until Part 7, because I kept telling myself I would just wait for the trade. Then my LCBS put out re-prints of all the issues and gave me 10% off of them. I have to say, it's a great read, but I don't think it's anything really spectacular. I'm surprised it's selling out so much and so fast. When I started on the first issue, I thought it would be on a much grander scale. The map of the US all divvied up between villains made it seem like he'd run into a lot more interesting stuff than he did/has so far. Oh well. Maybe the last issue will blow me away.

SPOILERS!!

50 years in the future, the villians have organized and pretty much killed every superhero on the planet.  America has been split up into sectors controled by different supervillains.  Wolverine has retired due to what he did during the villain uprising and has vowed never to pop his claws again.  He now lives in California with his wife and 2 children, barely making rent each month which is paid to the inbred grandchildren of the Hulk who control the west coast.  When Logan can't make this month's rent the Hulk gang gives him some extra time to come up with the money. The now blind Hawkeye offers to give Logan the money if he travels cross country with him to D.C. to deliver a secret cargo.

I wonder when the next issue will come out. Bets anyone? I say next year. Especially with it being giant sized and Mcniven drawing useless variant covers on top of already being a slow artist.

I was never big on Wolverine, I just think he's overexposed...But once I heard Millar (How can you not love Ultimates Vol 1/2) was attached, I had to follow it from the beginning.  So far it hasn't really disappointed...Wish I could say the same for his work on F4/War Heroes...Sigh, can't win em all.

Love the series but had a small problem with this issue. Is it me, or did it seem like at last mintune Cap was changed from Steve to Bucky?

I thought it's a great series. I saw the preview for issue 72 and decided to get all the issues. It's incredible, probably the best marvel comic I've read. I'll get the tpb too

@MercenaryX:

You might want to put some kind of spoiler warning there for people who haven't read it yet.
