They have done an alright job with at least the second Spidey movie but the other other two do not inspire confidence.I don't agree with the casting choice but then again I'm not a professional casting agent.I hope he gets a haircut and has a good American accent.

idk the image of him reminds me more of Eddie Brock, than Peter Parker. maybe if his hair was darker, and not so... up. and the nerd glasses, Petey needs his nerd glasses.

I don't know much about the high school Spiderman but he'll probably make it like a twilight movie he just looks like one or just like that pale dude in the movie

As a sid earlier the guy can pull it off, he has done great movies: BOY A, Lions for Lambs & The Red Riding Trilogy to name a few, search for info online and you'll see.

Is this a high school movie? Does anyone know that for sure? People keep saying that, but I haven't heard anything that points to it being in high school. Also, most of the actors they looked at were out of high school range.
 
I honestly hope its not in high school. We don't need another origin, we don't need another nerdy high school Peter Parker. The second Spider-Man was the best because he was able to just go out and be Spider-Man. Now we just need a Spider-Man movie where he can go be Spider-Man, and not be a totally lame nerd. Parker only starts out as a nerd, but he becomes a confident witty dude.

Okay... well, I don't have the right to criticize much, since I don't know this guy, but he is SO not my Spiderman! I'm not sure if I'm disappointed yet, but I guess I will in due time... 
 
BTW: is it just me, or does this guy look like a freaky hybrid cross-breed of Robert Pattinson and Joe Jonas?!?!?!

I just feel like Sony wants to turn Spider-Man into Twilight.  The new Peter Parker is a bit of a doppleganger for the Robert Pattinson like so many posters are saying.  You're going to see Team Peter and Team Harry shirts come 2012 or whenever this thing comes out.  I'll try to remain positive in the meantime.  Now if they decide to do this tie-in nonsense Marvel is doing with the rest of its roster then I'll be upset.  I don't wan to see a 2 hour trailer for a movie that hasn't been made yet.  I'm looking right at YOU, Iron Man 2.

He doesn't seem to have that super clean nerd boy look that Toby McGuire had, which is a good thing in my opinion.

Never heard of him but I already like him a thousand times more than  Hutcherson. Much better choice in my opinion.

No clue about this guy.  Getting a whiff of Eau de Fail, though.  Does anyone else think he looks like Robert Pattinson (sp) from Twilight?  Sparkly Neighborhood Spiderman, anyone ?

He looks like too much of a pretty boy to me. I think he'd fit the part of a Flash Thompson better than a Peter Parker. First, Chris Evans as Cap, and now this. What has happened to Marvel casting?

excellent choice! he'll be a great Peter Parker/ Spider-Man. I think Emma Stone should play MJ!  
 

I don't see why their rebooting a movie that is barely 10 years old! It doesnt make sense to me really, but oh well it's not the first time it's happened and I will probably see it anyway.

I actually think that Deborah Ann Woll (Jessica on TrueBlood) would be a pretty decent choice for MJ in the reboot.  She has the girl next door look, but when she gets all done up she looks stunning:
