There's been mention of secret members, could Doom be one of them?
The Human Torch is dead. With his death, the Fantastic Four will become no more. But in case he ever met his end, Johnny left a message for Reed to continue fighting the good fight. He told Reed to make things better. The result will be a different FF —the Future Foundation.
When Marvel first announced Spider-Man joining the FF, it was also mentioned that along with the remaining members of the Fantastic Four there would be some top secret members to form an unstoppable force. I want to throw in the idea that we might be seeing Victor Von Doom, aka Doctor Doom, becoming one of those top secret members.
It might sound crazy. It might seem impossible. I think the possibility is there. The goal of the Future Foundation is to save the Marvel Universe from its greatest threats and prevent future dangers from arising. Doctor Doom is a brilliant man and would be a great ally against threats to the world.
But what reason is there to even suggest the possibility of him joining? == TEASER == The first reason is simple. In a Marvel preview we saw the cover to FF #2 by Daniel Acuña. This is what convinced me my suspicions were correct. The image (that you see above) shows Doom with a Future Foundation logo behind him (then again, it is all in flames so maybe I'm completely off base). The second reason I suggest Doom could be joining is Tom Brevoort, Senior Vice President of Publishing, said that Hickman and Epting have some mind-blowing ideas and visuals. What would be more mind-blowing that Doctor Doom working side-by-side with his most hated enemy, Reed Richards? The third reason goes back to last September's Fantastic Four #583. In this issue, Reed and Sue's daughter, Valeria, caught up on what Reed had been working on. He had the idea of solving everything but gave that up for his family. She then teleported herself to Doctor Doom's castle and told him her father built a very bad machine and forgot to tell anyone. When she entered the portal created by the machine, she discovered that her father made the wrong choice. He had to choose between personal happiness and the good of the world. He chose his family. She then tells Doom her father is going to need his help. When the Intelligencia kidnapped Doom for their scheme, he suffered some brain damage. Valeria said she would find a way to restore Doom to his normal brilliant self and he will help Reed in return. Doom agreed.
This deal hasn't been addressed since. The writing is on the wall. Doom will be working with Reed to solve everything and save the world. Will Doom get a new fancy team suit or will he apply paint and/or FF decals to his armor?

Exactly, and this is why I don't see it happening. Throwing Doom and Reed together on the same team is like throwing Batman and the Joker together; it's a shaky alliance, and you know eventually it will blow up. Doom has way too much pride to join his rival, nevertheless help him. I can imagine going from monarch of Latveria to member of the Future Foundation a little bit of a downgrade.
I see a teamup, but not a full partnership.

I hate everything to do with Valeria, the 5 year old being more intelligent than the greatest minds in the MU is just insulting. As much as I love Doom, I can't get excited about this solely because of that. It might be petty, but oh well.
I hope he does, it wouldn't be the first time Doom and Reed Richards have worked together for a common goal (usually one that benefits Doom as well) so there's precedent. I highly doubt Doom will change anything about his appearance though. He's not that much of a team player.
Prediction: he helps them save the world to repair his brain damage, then somehow ends up screwing them in the end. It's his M.O. after all.

At the same time, it's not as if a subplot like that will simply be forgotten.
Seems like the tenuous sort of alliance that, once his and Valeria's agreement is fulfilled, it's back to being enemies. Wouldn't seem as big a deal if that's what happens, but if their working together leads to new interesting developments in their rivalry, that'd be great. Given how the Fantastic Four has had some damn interesting developments recently, I'd bet on that.
Even with his mask Doom is probably trying to keep his pokerface on. (But I think Reed is going to decline the ''offer'''/Doom is going to be on the team but nobody will know it except for the daughter and he'll do undercover stuff)

I still don't think that Human Torch is actually dead. I think "Missing in Action" would be a better way to word it. I mean, the guy is made out of fire! How you going to stop him? A bucket of water? Pfff.

Well, if you think about it, all Doom really wants is to make a better world. That's why he always wants to rule it. He believes that only he can make the world perfect. I think Doom's ultimate goal fit right into the FF's goal, to make a better future. I think Doom could make a good ally for a while, at least until he tries to take control.

Why even play with this idea? It's stupid.If there is one thing Marvel doesn't needs it's more obscure storylines.How about someone who actually fits? How about She-Hulk..she needs the exposure and makes the F4 less of a sausage party.There are alot of heroes in NY to choose from.Doom...........GTFO with that.

Doom is so great as an over-blown windbag who refers to himself in the 3rd person and epitomizes the term "super-villain." I love his early FF appearances back in the Stan and Jack era. Doom is quite amazing as a one-dimensional bad guy.
That being said, I also dig multi-layered antagonists too. Reed and Doom have been butting heads for years and years and it has always been about ego which isn't as strong a motivator/justifier in a villain as say revenge or survival IMHO. Take Xavier and Magneto as an example of a "perfect" example of that opposite sides of the same coin device -- their coin is the survival of their species. Reed and Doom could have that too, but only if their "coin" can be identified, and more so made believable or at least understandable within the context of the story.
I admit, I don't read FF and I've only followed what I've read about the series here and there on the net. I applaud bold storytelling and I wish the creative team only the best even though I'm put-off by killing off the Torch which still feels gimmicky (and after years and years and years of deaths and re-births why wouldn't it).

Who is writing Doom now? They've vacillated from him being noble to just being a douche. If it's a writer that prefers Dr. Douche, then no reason to read.
Actually, i was hoping Valeria and Doom or Valeria, Doom, and Reed all go back in to the portal. I would like to see what they can all accomplish together
I think Doom would turn on them or lay a seed for a future plan while in there. It gives him a portal to all the other universes. He could potentially do this same thing with all the Doom's of the Marvel Univere (if they didnt kill each other first)
No way. That would be effectively neutering the character and I hope it never happens. I don't think he will become a member of FF, he'll just help Reed in some big way. Doom can't be trusted and it should stay that way. Screw character evolution, I fear change.

not really,i see dr.doom as kind of like namor when it comes to pride, and reed and dr.doom teaming up would be nothing like batman and the joker, way different characters, way different situation, reed and dr.doom have teamed up before
I'd be lying if I said I read Fantastic Four, but I love Doom as a character, and even though i couldn't really see this happening, it would be pretty epic. But he'd most likely betray them in the long run. I mean come on... He's Dr. Doom.
What I think is going to be the most interesting is when the Council finds about about 616 Doom, and 616 Doom finds out about 'The Hole' where the Council keeps all their lobotomized Doom's from alternate universes. That's where things are going to get really interesting.
Its a possibility... Doom isn't as Evil as he makes himself out to be, his took his home nation, Latveria and turned it into an economic powerhouse. Also, since Von Doom was born a Gypsy he takes special interest in the well being of the Roma, where everywhere else they are met with nothing but Hate. So there's a chance Von Doom could join this so called "Future Foundation"
And if not maybe he shows up in a big fight to help the "Future Foundation" and before he leaves he tells Reed "I'm the one that gets to kills you, Not [Insert Villain her]" and leaves

It's not a matter of powers, it's matter of characterization. As much as kids can be pain in the rear, having a 5 years old acting pretty much like a fully grown-up wiseass, capable of treating Doom like a half-witted idiot because she's lready smarter than him is depressing.
It would fantastic! I would love to see Doom with Reed and Susan and the rest of the Future Foundation, I always thought Doom would make a great super hero. But more than anything I want a team-up between Dr. Doom and Dr. Nemesis..... the possibilities are endless!
