Off My Mind: What Will The Return of Carnage Bring?

When does this Carnage mini series come out?

Ive always been a fan of Carnage more so than Venom. Dont get me wrong venom is still awesome but i just loved how much more sadistic carnage always was compared to venom... I definitely be picking this one up...

Carnage always seemed pretty cool to me mainly because he was seemingly an upgrade from Venom who was already one of my favorite characters. But that's only power-wise, Venom still tops Carnage as an anti-Spidey icon.

A female version of Carnage? Now that's a thought. I think it'll be great :D.

I thought making Venom more heroic was dumb.  Eddie Brock was an awesome Venom before that.  Carnage seemed to be Marvel trying to fix what they messed up.  They just didn't learn from their first mistake.  Venom was a deadlier form of Spider-Man, and popular, so they tried to hero him up to make him marketable, and his popularity dipped.  So they tried again with Carnage, and had a brief popularity explosion with him.  So they invent more, and the whole symbiote thing has been downhill since then, IMO. 
 
They did similar with Vengeance, in Ghost Rider.  They had a really cool series going, then introduced a villain that was a derivative copy of the hero, but he eclipsed GR in popularity for some reason, and I felt like that killed the series. 
 
I kind of feel like they're doing similar to Wolverine, with all the relatives he seems to have running around now.  I feel they should concentrate on the good thing they've got, instead of multiplying it and watering down the character's effect.

Carnage without Cletus just isn't Carnage.

Not much of symbiote fan, so don't really care about Carnage

that was straight up the single best Carnage issue ever, and one of the best comics released under the House Of Ideas in it's year. "

The symbiote attached itself to Peter and was gradually taking control of his body. It thrived from the relationship, while leaving its host drained, exhausted, and threatening to consume his individuality entirely. That's a parasite pretty much by definition.  The cancer stuff is something else entirely, yes.  Morbius drains blood, so probably was a bad example on my part. How about someone like Selene, who drains victims differently. Would she feed off of the symbiote even as it used her; would their bond create a sort of closed circuit? "

Bring back Brock as Venom, no Marvel Anti-Hero early 1990's marketing.  If Mephisto Dr Strange Stark and Richards can undue what they did to SM, then make brock the twisted conflicted almost son of sam brain eater we all love.

Carnage should combine with Deadpool,disregarding the symbiote dinosaur incident.

I don't really know that much about Carnage from comics, but he was my favourite in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2!

Have loved Carnage since day one.  He was ill-used and the art that handled his character at times was a catastophe.  But with the right writers and artists he did do well at times.  I am really looking forward to this title as it is in the hands of Zeb Wells.  Almost anything he writes is normally gonna keep ya coming back for more.  
 
Will Mat and Eddie show up?  I sure hope not.  That will totally destroy the story and murder the art as well.  It will be another superhero mashup that ends up meaning nothing.  They treated Carnage's initial death with no care, but in how he died, they left it wide open.  I really hope they do this one right and handle it with kid gloves.
 
I also hope this changes your feelings and opinion on the character as it seems you never really gave him a chance Tony.  Its possible that you share some of the feelings that I have, the fact that he was never used to his full potential or you just wrote him off since day one...who knows.

"  This leaves the door right open for his return anyhow.  The symbiote would not die since it survived in space, but Cletus on the other hand would have be ripped from it and died there is space.  It then would live as its purest form.  I don't like that fact that Iron Man is along for the ride.  I think he is just a filler to provoke another villan to show up to give him something to do.  I think this story should be really gritty, dark and gory with Spider-man stripped down to the bone against a thirsty, hungry, will stop at nothing till your dead Doomsday attitude.  Zeb overall will probably take care of this story, but I think this one should be raw, gritty and have it treated with a serious tone like the death of Superman.  Marvel has a tendency to start off well, but end up with a Mickey mouse ending to many things.

Now I've never read any sort of Comic Book in my life but I got to say it the art in these books can be amazing.

i happened to like carnage but never really thought he lived up to his full potential. undecided about this series yet though.

If you didn't notice... Marvel has just been benching people recently. 
 Thor, Cap, Hawkeye, Eddie Brock and various others have been benched, The Hulk was shot into space!
 Black Panther as the King without Fear is just like Incredible Hercules! When a character is out of play... his fans come out of the woodwork. Cletus Kassidy was a joke, he had no bearing in Spiderman's mythos... If Harry had become Carnage, he'd been received better

I like the art, but not sure if I like the idea of another character coming back 
If I can make one criticism of comics, it's that a character never stays dead for too long

i like the way they developed eddies character into an anti-hero, and made the venom symbiote and mac reveal their true colors.  those were some great stories.  carnage was always a second-rate venom and kinda annoying--we only got development in the venom storylines after carnage died.  Furthermore, i love the scene where sentry kills carnage and i think it was so important it should be kept that way.  i guess im ok with cletus coming back, just not as carnage.  I would actually like to see cletus take the toxin suit and do something with that character.  
maybe the new carnage is really toxin gone over the edge.

I love symbiotes so... Id love to see more on Toxin, especially would have been fun more in the Civil War, because he was a Pro-Registrant...

I liked Carnage as a character back in the day, but I don't really see the need for him to make a return.  Certainly, there's potential for this to be a good series, and I hope it is.  But right now, it feels too much like a way to rope in sales from fans of the 90's comics.
