Have you been unconscious for the past few years? Because Marvel's been reviving the best part of 90s concepts for a while now and putting them to good use.
The cover to Superior SM has him with the classic costume. I have been reading all the news regarding the new Spidey book and i'm losing hope with every new piece of info. I don't like it one bit that they hint at Pete not being the new Spider Man. Not cool Marvel, not cool.

As for Peter no longer being Spidey, I do find that a bit annoying. I can learn to deal with it however. I do have a few guesses for who might take over for him. It could be Ben Reilly as a few others have speculated. He is Peter's Clone after all so he'd fit the mold perfectly. I can also see Miguel O'Hara coming back in time to be Spidey. The claws on the new spidey fit his style. Still that seems awfully far fetched. Another option is the 616 version of Miles Morales, but thats hardly original and would not sit as well with me honestly (leave Miles in Ultimate IMO). Another option still is for it to be Eddie Brock. Eddie is way more buff though and doesn't fit Spidey's lithe build, but I could totally see them doing that. I think that the new Spidey would be someone we know, but it is possible for it to be one of the new mutants that popped up from AvX.
I don't see it being Kaine, as he is Scarlet Spider and in Houston. I also don't see it being Alpha as some have thought. Personally I'd prefer if Slott was trying to mislead us to throw us off track, but I guess we will wait and see what happens in December. Either way I am both excited and anxious to see what unfolds.
Erm killig off Peter Parker? A badly done event that could have gone so much better if they planned it better? You know, the New 52 is better. At least when they change up the stuff there, you know its making a new universe, not changing stuff in the old one.
Example being the Future Foundation's format changing to a second team of the FF, Storm on a X-Force team (It seems off to me) and replacing Spiderman with a dark version.

Oh great, Peter kissing Mary Jane. The relationship that Marvel thought was so bad for the series they created one of the most broken stories in history just to end it. More and more, I'm beginning to feel that Marvel's publishing motto should actually be "The more things change. The more they stay the same.". If you think a series needs change. Make an actual change and stick to it.

I'd love it to be Ben Reilly. The differences this go round would be A) we know he's a clone instead of it being revealed he's the original, and B) Peter would have to be in a supporting role. But I still think it's unlikely. Though Slott bringing him up in an earlier interview was interesting ;)
I do think the claws are for sticking to walls, so it could be Alpha (groan).
Has anyone considered it being Phil Urich? He's been present throughout Slott's "Big Time" run. Perhaps something happens in ASM #700 that makes him want to redeem himself. He was a hero way back.
With the boots though, kinda ninja-like, no? So, in the realm of ridiculous possibilities: Shang-Chi? He had some dealings with Julia Carpenter and Pete in Spider Island, another Slott story. But it's a major stretch.
I hope they get Philly right in the new Venom series, not all just Liberty Bell and chessesteaks.  There's also all of our miserable douchebags to account for. Also, a pretty big defining attribute is that apart from bars which are open until 2 or so, night scenes should be pretty desolate. We're closed nights and weekends.Â
It is cletus kasady, if you pay attention, behind the "spider-man" title there is another "spider-man" title writted with the same style than all the carnage title.
I love that cover of Avenging Spider-man showing how all the x-men can use their powers in different ways to "cling" to the wall like Spidey.
Not sure what to think about the "all new" Spider-man not being Peter tho. If we just have two spiders swinging around it might be ok, but i want Pete to still be in the action somewhere.
The Superior Spider-Man being Ben Riley makes a lot of sense. But sadly, I'm pretty sure that some brand new character (Or worse, Alpha!) will be taking up the mantel of Spider-Man. I have faith in Slott however, so I'm just gonna kick back and wait to see what happens

Wasn't there a story arc where Peter lost his powers and asked Ben Reilly to take up the mantle in the mean time? Ben would be the most logical choice, right? I would have no problem if he was the "Superior Spider-Man". A depowered Parker is slightly better than a dead Peter Parker. I'll give Dan Slott the benefit of the doubt since his run continues to impress me.
@Mercy_: Same here, but I'm all for her showing up in the title and causing some trouble. The cover featuring her is pretty damn slick, as all of the Hawkeye covers have been. Fraction and Aja have blown my mind so far, and even though its only been a few issues I trust them as a creative team fully.
