Keatinge will write MORBIUS THE LIVING VAMPIRE. Â The writer says he's been a big fan of the character for a long time because "he's not a hero, he's not a villain. Â He's just a guy trying to do well and he's relentless in trying to do good but it always messes up."
This won't be a prison book.  Morbius will be leaving the Raft.

Says the theme of the title is "actions have consequences."
The new Spider-Man will appear in the title to help Matt battle the new Stilt-Man. Â "I can't believe I just said that," Waid remarks. Â
Issue #23 will reveal the mystery villain that has been playing Matt since issue #3.

Venom is leaving the Big Apple and moving to Philly. Â When asked why, they joked it's because of Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
But really, it's because Venom will "need a change" after the events of 'Minimum Carnage.'
It certainly WILL be sunnier in Philly now that Brock is making his way there! Great revelations people, and those covers are truly amazing. The Venom and Anti-Venom covers especially had me hooked!
The cover to Superior SM has him with the classic costume. I have been reading all the news regarding the new Spidey book and i'm losing hope with every new piece of info. I don't like it one bit that they hint at Pete not being the new Spider Man. Not cool Marvel, not cool.
My official guess is that Peter Parker will finally find out that he really is in fact Ben Reilly and it was the real Peter that died long ago. Then he gets a new attitude because he doesn't feel like he should be the same person anymore.
Look at the clues:
Dan Slott said that what he does to Spider-Man will piss off a lot of people. The whole thing behind Ben is Peter and Peter is Ben pisses off a lot of people.
He also said that the new guy has "serious Spider-Man pedigree." Who has more pedigree than Ben?
Marvel's street level books have been incredibly solid this year. Anxious to find out what will happen with Peter. Looking forward to more Daredevil and Hawkeye.
I'm concerned about SSM. I dont' really want a spider-man book without Peter, unless he's going to go be spider-man for team books and this new guy is spider-man in new york?
Also, I'm worried about who it could be. Doesn't look like it'll be alpha, but I also hope it isn't someone I wouldn't care to read a spider-man story about (which would make it a very short list). I would be really cool with it if Shang Chi was spider-man. That could be very cool. That said, my money is on it being Harry Osborne and if I'm right, I don't think I'll be picking this up.
I'm curious to see how this plays out, but this is the first time in a long time I've seriously considered not picking up a spider-man series...
Slott joked around that you guys might hate him after ASM #700. Â Let's wait and see how the story unfolds before ranting or raving about the change. Â I think he's at least earned that much ;)
I asked them if Black Cat would become a permanent member of the Defenders or maybe join the Avengers like she wanted to in the beginning of big time Spider-Man.
They said they didn't know yet and would probably have a big talk about the direction of her character soon.
The only way I'm cool with Peter not being Spider-man anymore is if it works out similar to Hal's situation as GL with the DC New 52. Having him still a major force in the book, but at the same time taking a backseat to Sinestro.
I would be very interested in seeing Ben as Spidey, and an injured Peter staying at Horizon and helping build tech.
Does that picture of the newly redesigned Spider-man mean that the new guy (if there actually is one) is really a mutant? Like one of the new ones created by the Phoenix? Or just a coincidental team up?
How is this new spider-man "superior"? Obvisously, if he needs spikes on the tip of his fingers to stick to walls, he isn't superior. And he looks more like a villian than before. Even the black costume looks friendlier than this one. And honsetly, I don't want MARVEL to kill off Peter. If he loses his powers than thats fine, I guess. But if he dies, I will lose respect for MARVEL for even letting the writer do this. And I will change it from MARVEL NOW! to MARVEL WOW! REALLY?
That said, my money is on it being Harry Osborne and if I'm right
I considered that but it doesn't fit. Harry isn't the biggest Spider-man fan why would ha take on the suit? He also doesn't have a lot of experience being a hero (which is what Slott said about this new Spider-man).
If it is Ben, then I am way more okay with it. I still think that SSM is Peter Parker, but mb he forgoes being Peter Parker and becomes Spiderman full time, mb even peter "dies" in issue 700.
But yah I really don't know about this business of not having Peter Parker as Spiderman, but I'll give Slot the benefit of doubt for now.
I, like r3d_rob1n will have no issues with Peter Parker not being Spider-man, as long as he still plays a major part in the book, either as a mentor, tech builder or both. I believe he earned his rest/retirement from the costume.
My main issue is, according to Dan Slott, he will not be with Mary Jane. I mean they have been together for a long time, he told Silver Sable (Hope she comes back soon), after turning her down, he wanted to be worthy of MJ and near the end of the Spider-Island arc MJ whispered "I love you" to Peter which he did not hear and granted he was wearing his costume at the time. The fact that they are separating them in a more permanent basis, in terms of their relationship, really does not sit well with me.
Found this info regarding Mary Jane in a step-by-step accounting at the NYCC by CBR which apparently says "Slott compared the tone to Gwen Stacy's death and "Kraven's Last Hunt." Then, "You want Spider-Man and Mary Jane back together? They're back together! But he's not Peter Parker."
I'm hoping this is more of Marvels teasing or even one of their twists where it is Peter but with a new identity, which was setup by technology or magic, in order to escape his identity being revealed by Doc Oc.

He may be a mutant but his foot is like that because he has a claw coming out of his big toe which is used for gripping. Hence the reason its pronounced. His feet could well be fine beneath.
@Strider92: Maybe he'll pull a Bendis. but that's unlikely. it's probably someone we already know. Someone we would never expect, I know who the new Spider-man might be!
@DarkKnightDetective: Yeah I have a feeling its someone we already know but i really can't think of who fits the criteria. I doubt Slott is pulling a Bendis unless Dr Ock ends up giving Pete amnesia lol.
