Nolan Leads Superman Reboot

Oh no! ...so that comic book fear of every superhero becoming Nolan-Batman real-world dark, no matter how inappropriate or inaccurate that is, may be coming true? ...sigh! Nolan is a fantastic director with a lot of talent, but characters like Spider-Man, Superman, Fantastic Four, and numerous others just aren't dark noir atmospheric or macabre in any way.    

I wonder how realistic and dark Nolan will make Superman?

I think Nolan is going to be there as just an advisor on how the story should progress. He's made some great movies, but it doesn't nessisarily have to mean Superman's going to get a realistic, darker tone. Looking at Nolan's Batman films, notice how he used the themes of fear (Begins), and chaos (Dark Knight). I think WB wants Nolan there to help inject those ideals into the Superman film, only using something more like hope, or something more Superman-esque.

Here's an idea put Lobo as the villain and that can lead into his movie

This is good news....as long as they draw from a comic series and not from the old Superman movies....they were good...for their era but not good for this era....

You know, Metropolis can be dark and gritty, so long as Superman isn't.  
 
I believe in Christopher Nolan. 

Nolan tries to make Superhero movies realistic how is going to do that with an alien that shoots lasers out it's eyes?

Very pumped to hear about this, especially considering the implications it will have on a possible Superman/Batman flick down the road.

So we are getting a reboot finally? 
 
That's great news. I have faith in Nolan seeing that Superman can't be cast in the Dark and gritty mold. Still I wonder who will actually be directing this.

I sure hope they bring it back to the basics, like when Mario Puzo wrote the script. The first movie really had such a strong cinematic presence...at least the Donnor cut did. But i think everyones a little tired of his origin story now.

The actors would have been fine if the film film hadn't been a pile of crap tribute to reeves

I do not care who does it as long as its good. I liked Superman Returns (...except for the super brat) what was not to like? People seem to want less plot/talking/characterization and more mindless fighting...though seeing Supes fight an opponent of equal strength would be awesome i wouldn't sacrifice plot and story for it

Give us a real villain no more Lex Luthor!!!!

they should have Luthor, just make him interesting!!! it's not hard, he's a cool character, just focus on the mad scientist idea. and dont make it just luthor, luthor and parasite or luthor and metallo.

I'll believe this when I actually see a trailer for the movie.

The recent "Superman Movie" getting a Reboot that's great with Director Christopher Nolan as it's new Movie Director that is "Super".

I can't say I'm thrilled to hear this.

Interesting...I think this is awesome news honestly....I hope they get Welling to play Superman and how sick would it be if Nolan had Bale make a cameo appearance at some point? I like this idea and where it can go.

No way....Welling is an awesome Superman man, one has the physique(unlike Brandon) and even Christopher Reeve said this about Welling...he had the look, acted perfectly for the role. 
 
And I'm quite sure Welling has far more fans as Superman as oppose to Brandon....not for nothing. If it bothers you that much then why watch Smallville? I just don't get that logic...he's easily one of the best actors to play Superman as far as I'm concerned.

Weilling looks like he's still in high school. For that matter, so does Routh. No, if they're rebooting the franchise, they need a completely new Superman.

Welling is actually older then Routh.... just want to point that out.
 
There's too many new Supermen already, I think if they time it right after Smallville is done, use Welling(maybe ask him to buff up just a little) but he's already bigger then Routh is...and that's that.

Well, Superman isn't "a kid" or really "Superboy" I think Brandon and some of these other picks are way too young looking if you ask me, Tom at least looks like he's that in between age(not too young, nor too old) he's around Reeve's age when he played the character give or take so I don't see the problem personally... 
 
How do we know? I don't think he'd look ridiculous(especially when we haven't really seen him) Brandon's costume looked wayyyy too tight(I know Supes has the tights) but I don't know....I think if they made it a darker blue it could work for Tom, the cape definitely I think would look rad on him. Tom isn't a school boy...he's in his late 20's...lol
