Nick Fury & Secret Warriors Fight H.A.M.M.E.R.

Is this a fight you've been waiting to see?

Nick Fury really hasn't had the best time lately.  He used to be on top of the world but has been forced to live in hiding since the Secret War.  We've seen him come out of hiding a bit during the Skrull Invasion and now that he has his Secret Warriors (and I still don't like that name).  Now that Norman Osborn has dismantled S.H.I.E.L.D. and has his own team, H.A.M.M.E.R. to do his biding, is there anyone besides me that really wants to see a showdown between them?

Marvel has sent over a preview to Secret Warriors #6.  What do you think?

Nick Fury and his Secret Warriors have launched their offensive against Norman Osborn’s H.A.M.M.E.R., but the foot on Fury’s throat might be a sign that things won’t end well! Marvel’s most acclaimed new series of the year continues in Secret Warriors #6, as red-hot scribes Brian Michael Bendis (Dark Avengers) & Jonathan Hickman (upcoming Fantastic Four), team with Young Gun artist Stefano Caselli for the next shocking chapter in Nick Fury’s war against the Dark Reign! What role does HYDRA play in this battle? What are Stonewall’s powers? And just what does Fury have up his sleeve? Strap in for answers—and a shocking conclusion that rocks Marvel’s world of subterfuge to its core! Plus, don’t miss an exciting variant cover by Tomm Coker, celebrating the sexy 70s!

Issue #6 is on sale July 29, 2009.

I love this book. It's still in my top 5, which is odd, cause I've never been a HUGE Nick fan or a huge fan of any of the others in this book.

This book should have been HOT. But it is very Dull on both art and story. Bring Fury back to his old glory.

I dropped this book back at issue 3....I don't think I've ever read a more boring book

Either Stonewall is cutting lose or Eden Fesi (the new member)  is using her reality warping powers.

I picked this series back since issue one. This is definitely a very good series. It has both great action and great storyline. As the end of the first arc, it has been building up to this, since issue one.

Looking forward, Hickman guarantees fans will have even more to get excited about in the next couple story arcs:

"I'd like to apologize for how boring, average and mundane the book has been in the first arc. Seriously, if you thought that was good, you're going to love what's next. The second arc is called 'God of Fear. God of War.' The third arc will be called 'Wake the Beast.'"

...So it's definetely going to uphill from here. :D
