New X-Men Video Game Announced

New York Comic-Con fans are in for a treat

Will this new Activision game dethrone the best X-Men game of all time? X-Men Arcade?

SuperHeroHype recently reported that Marvel and Activision are teaming up, once again, to make another X-Men game, X-Men: Destiny. G-Man recently talked about how cool it would be to have a X-Men game where you create your own student at the Xavier Academy and take them through training and school. Pretty cool, huh?

Well, the new Activision and Marvel game is described like this: "The all-new original video game casts players as new mutant recruits in a rich, branching storyline that features a deep element of choice and gives players ultimate control of their destiny." New mutant recruits? Could they be at the Xavier Academy? Did G-Man sign a deal with Marvel and Activision behind our backs?

If you remember, Activision, Marvel, and X-Men have all teamed up before with the X-Men Legends series, which became the platform for Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Hopefully, we'll get a different game engine though, since the MUA and Legends engine has really run its course. Maybe more of a 3rd person view? Who knows? Or how about a side-scrolling beat-em-up? That would be super awesome.

The big deal with all of this is that New York Comic Con attendees will get a sneak peak at the game during the con. Now through October 10th, the Activision booth (#1833) will not only have sneak peeks of the game, but they'll also have info on the original storyline written by X-Men: Legacy scribe Mike Carey at the Marvel Games Panel, October 9th,  at 10:45 AM in room 1A06. Could this game be a lot like the game G-man described recently? What do you want to see in this game?
