New X-Men Movie Announced

I already know that this movie will not be very good.

Awesome new movie announced! Better start hating it before it comes out!

If DoFP is good, I'll be excited, if it's mediocre like all the other X-Men films though, then I'm done with the franchise.

This is great news.

Maybe this is an indication in the faith the studio and everyone has in X-Men: Days of Future Past. It would be great if DOFP acts as a soft reboot so we could bring back characters like Cyclops and have them portrayed properly going forward.

@arturocalakayvee: There's no reason to think it's a "X-Men" movie and that's why I dont care. All evidence points to it being a Wolverine film.

Days of Future Past is Kitty Pride story, but a Wolverine movie.

X-Men 1 was all about Wolverine joining the X-Men and mentoring Rogue.

X-Men 2 was really about him being the leader (as opposed to, you know, Cyclops or Storm). And confronting the military guy from his past, responsible for his Adamantium.

X-Men 3 was an abomination, was totally about Wolverine and his romance with Jean. And him single handedly defeating the Phoenix.

Wolverine Origins and The Wolverine are self-explanatory, I think.

First Class was the only actual X-Men movie, and Wolvie wasnt even in it.

agreed. only beef i had with wolverine though was the whole arrow scene when running to save that chick in the end. that just looked so badly done but other than that yea wolverine was a redemption from orgins

I hope it's AoA! I have always that the Age of Apocalypse would make the best X-Men movie! I'm holding judgement until I see DOFP, but my inner X-nerd is very excited!

Already excited for this! And a side note I want to see Storm rocking a Mohawk if she's in this one too.

Now this is the correct way to milk their franchises... I'm sure we won't get what the comics bring but at least it's not another origin movie.

Finally!!! Was wondering when they were gonna bring him out into the cinematic universe. It'll prolly have a title like "X-Men: Rise of Apocalypse" or just "X-Men: Apocalypse" though instead of "Age of..." it just seems a little better to introduce him better that way rather than have him already the guy that runs the world at the beginning of a movie as many people who don't even read the comics won't know who he really is or what his background/origin is.

Very interesting! I do actually hope they will focus on a team, not just Wolverine only (No offended, Logan. We love you but I think we want to see more actions from other team!).

i have to say i was thinking of how this guy can work and i just found it strange this was just announced. this would be the perfect movie to introduce cable and have that tie into xforce

i'm more excited for the two Rurouni Kenshin sequels than this. at the end of the movie, wolverine will save the day, so wha't new? : /

and i'm not currently loving what Singer has done with some of the x-men characters - i.e. Psylock, Havok, Bishop (? really?)

want to be excited for this i really do but lets be real, we all know how the movie is going to end: everyone but wolverine will get their butts kicked and wolverine will kill apocalypse by himself cause yeah, that's realistic like when he killed phoenix in X3, cause somehow he is the ONLY ONE that she couldnt vaporize with a thought. until i hear full details (mostly who will be in it and i so want to see Magik one day) im like "eh"

and that's why i can no longer get excited when i hear about an upcoming x-men movie. days of future past killed that buzz with all the wolverine focus that they wont stop doing. its so hard to be an x-man fan when the movies really are "WOLVERINE and yeah those other people" sigh. thank the GODS for comics

Won't be seeing this. I will never see another "X-Men" (air quotes for a reason) movie until either the rights go back to Marvel or the franchise gets rebooted. Also, this article's title is wrong. It should say "New Wolverine movie announced".

In my eyes this just prolonges the day Marvel ever gets the rights back.I am disappointed.Its Fox its probably gonna end up Wolverine vs Apocalypse or some crap.

If the X-Force movie comes out first, then it'll be connect with this I would think. Taking a page from Marvel Studios and connecting films. Could work well if done right. Stryfe involved. Lets hope they don't screw this up.

i believe this is before xforce. im not 100% sure though and if it is that would be a nice way to weave into the fox xmen universe.

agreed. it must suck to always be that miserable about a movie of all things. like wolverine as a example. for years people rode him like hes this amazing charachter and now with going on 7 films people complain oh to much wolverine : smh: i admit i use to be one of those types of people but i just learned just see it for what it is. if its great its great if it sucks it sucks.. i wont know till i see it and its 2 years away

These people that complain about "too much Wolverine" must have apparently never really read the comics, throughout X-Men history there has been times when characters like Cyclops and Storm have quit or didn't appear in the X-Men for long periods of time. But you know has pretty much always been there and has never left for that long?? Some guy named Wolverine...and for that reason they have him as a centric character in the films??? No way.

Yeah, so he's bankable. Put him in every comic, in every movie, center stage. Screw the rest of the cast, they're just background material anyway. Rah, rah, rah, Wolverine.... ugh.

Haha, Fox are smartasses. They swoop in Apocalypse before Thanos becomes a main villain and Darkseid in the imaginary Justice League film.
