I wasn't so sure what to think after watching the first trailer.
Now I'm pretty sure what I think. I've read quite a bit of the Spirit. Both the original stuff (thanks to the glory of those really expensive hardcovers) and the new ongoing comics.
This movie...or I guess I should say this trailer? Seems so far off the mark. Just watching this short clip, I can see so many things that just seem way off from what the characters, looks, and...vibe.
I'm not sure what else to say. I'd hate to make a firm judgment based on just a trailer.
I'm kinda bummed though.
Hopefully this trailer won't get pulled and you can see for yourself.
UPDATE: The trailer was pulled as I thought it would be. I searched online. Everyone's saying that it was "leaked" out. So I guess Lionsgate didn't want it released yet. I don't think it's because I (or a lot of other sites) didn't think it felt right. They probably want to show it properly at the beginning of some big movie.
But don't get me wrong. Do I think it's going to be a bad movie from that trailer? No. I don't think it will be a good SPIRIT movie but it'll probably be a good movie. Am I going to see it? Of course.
