New Sinestro Series Announced

The Korugarian is getting his own title this year! Find out when you can buy it and see who's writing and illustrating.

It's going to be a good year for fans of Thaal Sinestro. Not only has the powerful lantern appeared at the end of FOREVER EVIL #4, but it was also just announced the character will soon have his very own ongoing. According to Newsarama, SINESTRO will be written by Cullen Bunn and illustrated by Dale Eaglesham. According to the website, Thaal's desperate after the destruction of Korugar (see Lights Out) and he'll aim to command the Yellow Lantern Corps once again.

The first issue comes out April 16. So, who's excited for Sinestro to jump back into the spotlight?

Boring.

Call me when they actually decide to make some non-Lantern cosmic books

Cool.

This is probably one of those titles the fans beg for or don't ever want on the shelves.

Posted by ScarletWitchFever

My only hesitation is that it's drawn by Dale Eaglesham.

eh not a fan of the Lantern universe. I would love to see a Question series.

Bunn is a pretty good writer, but do we really need 6 Lantern books that will all tie together every few months. Just make a weekly GL book already.

Posted by PeppeyHare

@daredevil21134: I don't read it, but isn't GLC focused on Stwewart?

Anyway this seems cool

Posted by Maddpanda531

@manwithoutshame: Probably so he could read it. Hard to do that without being on the actual page.

I think I'll end up buying this because Sinestro is a BOSS. If it was just The Sinestro Corp, I would pass, but It's hard to refuse this. But I also want to buy Iron Fist. My wallet :(

I've been looking forward to another announcement since the Yellow Lantern book was teased at Comic Con. This is going to be awesome... really hope Arkillo's in it.

Edited by 2cool4fun

@millennium: Animal Man is not getting canceled, he's story is just coming to an end, and they would never cancel a comic for another comic seeing how they don't even have 50 comics at the moment and it is called the new 52.

But anyway, i don't know if i should be happy that lights out was not the last we will ever see of sinestro, or be skeptical seeing as how this can go very very wrong.

Agreed. But something more akin to classic Question, not the trinity of sin one. Noir detective stuff works best with him, the supernatural trappings just muddle things up.

The closest thing to a solo lantern book these days is Larfleze, assuming you don;t count his constructs. So you're out of luck on soloing lanterns anywhere.

HELL YEAH! First Magneto, now Sinestro are getting their own ongoing series. This is freaking awesome!

cool, might check this out

I would love to see a mystery based series, but I fear with titles like Trinity of Sin: Pandora and Trinity of Sin: The Phantom Stranger, we will be seeing the Judas-esque question than a Vic Sage series. Bet We'll see "Trinity of Sin: Question" before the year is out.

@millennium: Animal Man is ending, but only because the writer wants it to. Has nothing to do with Sinestro.

@madeinbangladesh: granted we haven't seen all that much of Q except for his appearence impersonating Steve Trevor in Trinity war, so it could be a good title (might even get a creative team who were fans of Vic so they a mystery vibe to that title). The character we saw in JL had a conspericy vibe to him, but it still isn't clear on his motives and his actual character
