So do I. Does this fall under the Marvel Now banner? Because I'd hate to see such art be subjected to an eye sore like that bottom banner.

I loved the first Origin book. I'm for sure in on this one. Really solid creative team here.

not really his "origin" but they've both been alive for going on 200 years now it's not unlikely that they would have ran into each other at some point before the X-men...especially with Sinister's infatuation with mutants....if he were to hear of a wild man with claws coming out of his hands running around the Canadian wilderness then he'd probably be inclined to check it out...especially with so few mutants running around during that time

Wasn't the biggest fan of he first, but that is some pretty good art.

This looks incredible. Definite pick up.

I assume Kubert is not responsible for the colors here. Frank Martin Jr.? Whoever it is did an amazing job. If I even cared about Wolverine, just a little bit, the art would probably convince me to pick this up.

Wolverine shed a tear at this comment.

I'm not really an X-Men reader. Does "the first X-Man" make sense as a title for him?

Its got an interesting art team. but I don't plan to buy this. more like read off the shelf at work.

I've been wanting to read a Wolvie-book. This'll be good.

@thefirstlantern: Origin was OK. Honestly I remember very little about it: didn't have a whole lot of staying power for me.

Posted by MisterNefarious

@v_scarlotte_rose: Not really, no. I'm not even sure on the timeline, but don't the X-Men even predate Wolverine's experience with Weapon X?

So even if we stretched it to say that to him being an X Man is weapon X, I think it's still a bit off to call him the first X man.

Kinda like Cap really isn't the first Avenger, since Thor is a God (or at least worshipped as one), so he was more firsterest.

Oh goody there going to cannon sabertooth as logan,s brother.

Barf.

I have a feeling that this is going to destroy Origin's original purpose.
Which in my opinion was a simple elegant origin of Wolverine's early years. And throwing Mr. Sinister in there doesn't make it better...

Why does everything needs to be so convoluted :-P

Posted by V_Scarlotte_Rose

@misternefarious: I'm not really familiar with the timelines either. But yeah, that would be odd if his weapon X experience came later.

Maybe they mean first as in oldest.

The X-Men do not predate Weapon X. Even so, Xavier is obviously the first X-Man as the creator of the team. Now, if we were talking about the first mutant, they might have a point, but apparently Namor was recently given the title of first mutant.

The Original Origins was a beautifully designed book, looking forward to this one!

No Weapon X predates the X-Men. Weapon X has been an on and off program throughout te years with different people at the head of it. Wolverine is not the first X-Man I would call Professor X is as the founder of the team and school, and Thor is not the very first hero drafted to the Avengers team I'm pretty sure it was Cap. It's not about age it's about who was on those teams first bcause every original avenger has been around before the team was established.

I thought Apocalypse was the first mutant and Namor was the first Mutant discovered or something like that

@theamazingimmortalman: I tend to think of Ant-Man or Wasp as being the first Avenger, seeing as it was their idea to make the team a permanent thing.

Posted by friendlyNeighborhoodSpidey

I guess they're going by age, in a way trying to say Wolverine and Cap were members of the team in spirit before there was a team. With Cap I can see this more, since he may have formed the Avengers if he wasn't frozen in ice. I can't say the same for Wolverine. It took a lot of work to get him to be a real team player.

As far as Origin II, I'm not excited. It could be interesting, but seems unnecessary and I don't feel a need to know more of his past. But who knows? It could be a really great story.
