I love Ben Kingsley's acting skills when playing this character, but the character should never have existed.

I really liked Trevor , even though I think they should have revealed the real identity of the Mandarin much later. Kinda feel sorry for him now that he is in prison .... hope he is treated alright.

I'm very excited about this. I loved the twist in Iron Man 3 and look forward to seeing what happens in jail.

Sort of, there's a lot of work arounds to that. One that he had no connection to the 10 rings from the first film who were meant to tie into the mandarin at some point. When Killian said he was the Mandarin it's more likely he meant figuratively, that he wrote and created the Mandarin that Slattery played and he caused all the attacks so HE in that way was the mandarin that people were afraid of. That how I took that. There's still a way that a more traditional mandarin could exist in the MCU and Killian used like a legend of him to influence his figure.

This is either a complete troll, or an attempt to give us the real Madarin. I don't even know anymore -_- . I'm betting on more trolling.

Trevor was working so well as the Mandarin. He was evil, vile and contemptible! Everything that movie did built this man up as *the* villain. It was going so well! Then - boom - big reveal. Lots of laughs (absolutely hilarious!). The downside though is that the movie spent so much time building Trevor up that it really neglected Killian. He was a generic, boring villain with a passe origin and an old hat justification for being evil. I couldn't take Killian seriously because he was trite and under-developed as a villain. He would have worked much better as a villain in a sequel film, where the entire story could be devoted to building him up as a bad guy.

We all know Killian was not the real Mandarin. He didn't have rings! Its obvious that someone else will be introduced as the *real* Mandarin. I just hope it isn't Trevor's secret identical twin.

trevor is just marvel realizing that their movies will be goofy and dated in 10 years while The Dark Knight will be as revered Citizen Kane in 100 years.

Kingsley was good as the Mandarin, but the twist ruined the movie for me.

Iron Man 3 and Thor:TDW were major disappointments imo. I really hope they clean up this Mandarin/Trevor Slattery mess.

I'm looking forward to seeing this. Unlike most people, I enjoyed Trevor in IM3.

I didn't dislike the twist. I disliked the humor envolved in the Kingsley's performance. Had Trevor Slattery been a helpless captive being blackmailed or threatened, I would have loved Iron Man 3. The whole drunk, failed actor with IBS just took me right out of the movie. This has me curious though.

I thought the Mandarin twist worked within the context of the movie but I hated it because i thought it meant I would never get to see the Mandarin in all his proper glory.
But if this is the introduction of an actual international terrorist bent of world domination with ten magical rings then all is forgiven Iron Man 3

At best a "real" Mandarin will be revealed.

More likely the "Ten Rings" isn't happy with being duped or used as they were and want revenge on the figurehead, Slattery.

At worse this will be a comedy with the bumbling actor somehow finding a positive status quo in prison. Maybe as the Mandarin of Cellblock B.

Save your self the trouble and don't Iron Man 2 is Horrible, the worst one in the trilogy and 3 is a disaster, it was more of a tony stark comedy then an Iron Man movie & they made The Mandarin into a JOKE!!

Keep your hopes up, people. If that "power in belief" crap from Disney movies were ever going to be true, now is the time.

Well it sounds like Trevor (Ben Kingsley) will still be "Trevor" not the real Mandarin. Not sure what Marvel's trying to prove here. Did they realize they made a huge mistake in turning Kingsley's character into a joke? And are trying to atone for it by making some short that'll in the end still not fix the problem? Sort of backpedaling, sorta not. I'm not one to complain much here but like many that twist in IM 3 just ruined that movie for me.

Agreed on Iron Man 3, but I actually loved Thor: The Dark World. If Malekith had been a better villain, then TDW would probably be my favorite (or second favorite) CBM.

Could this hint at a real Mandarin and if he will be in a fourth Iron Man film?

If IM3 had trailers with Mandarin saying "You will never see me coming", and he turned out to be a fake in that movie, then it will be wonderful if in a potential IM4 film that the trailers don't mention any Mandarin and then, in the movie, he appears in spectacular fashion; hence the phrase "You will never seem me coming" will be meaningful...that will be nice!

I loved the Mandarin twist! I started laughing in the cinema, it was hilariously unexpected. I would like to see the actual mandarin as well, but I thought keeping the focus on AIM was clever. IM3 provided a backstory for AIM, while also introducing the Mandarin. It would now be easy to involve either of these villains in future stories, which I think a lot of people failed to see with that twist. They are obviously already in plans to use both villains in future stories, and I would love it so much if we got to see MODOK on the big screen!

This. I didn't mind the twist. Would I have liked to see Mandarin in all his ten ring glory? Yes, but for a movie verse Trevor worked. If all this is true and the Mandarin is still out there I'll be pretty excited to know he's still a possibility but it was a necessity (at least for me) to bring the real Mandarin back which I always thought was a possibility after seeing Iron Man 3.

As for the One-Shots they have been getting better and better so I'm eager to see this one as well.

Great point and that's exactly how I looked at it too. Killian didn't literally mean he was the Mandarin, he was basically saying to Tony in that moment that, "All this time you've been chasing after an apparition, a figment of my imagination while this whole time I was the one you should've been going after because I'm the true mastermind behind all this."
