New Creative Teams Announced for GREEN LANTERN Titles

Wow, I've been off the grid for too long. I'm gonna miss Johns and company but these new creative teams do sound pretty good!

Ugh Billy Tan's artwork is horrible! His stint on Uncanny X-Force was really hard to get through! And Green Lantern is my most anticipated title I get each month!

Geoff noooooooooooo he was the best for green lantern oh well I hope Rob is good though.

Im just happy about larfleeze looking forward to it i like most of the green lantern stuff except Red Lanterns kinda boring its good their changing things up in that area as for the rest since the story of all the green lantern comics are going in a new direction i guess its good they changed writers...But sad to see johns go always loved his work but i'm sure the green lantern stories will kick ass

They're doing what they did with Snyder and Lemire. Both had books that didn't get much attention, but they were put on bigger books and became super big at DC.

Not a lot of people know these writers, but they will get to know them on these books and DC is hoping people will enjoy these "newer" writers.

You want BRAND new? Brand new doesn't sell. There is already somewhat of a fan base for these writers. A fan base will grow with them on Green Lantern books.

I dunno about you, but I think this is great.

Definitely happy to see Venditti on the GL family flagship title but yes, the real interest for me will be to see if Fialkov can raise RL up from the mediocre muck it has become as of late. ::crosses fingers:: Please Fialkov, PLEASE do this for Red Lanterns...I personally am begging you...

I like Billy Tans art but he can do better than the picture shown here

I am completely stoked for this creative change up!!! Can't wait to see what these creators can do for my favorite Sci-Fi franchise!

Billy Tan!!!! Might have to check it out just for Mr. Tan!

Oh wow, DC. You really want me to buy every god damn title you put out, don't you?

Fialkov is the MAN. His I, Vampire run was astounding. I'll read anything he touches. And Venditti is killing it with X-O, so Green Lantern is is great hands.

Giffens and Kolins on an ongoing Larfreeze title? WINNING! I guess that means the Threshold backup will change when this monthly comes out. 
 
DC had the sense to put Fialkov on not one but two titles. I genuinely applaud that decision! :)

Robert Vendetti on Green Lantern. The dude's a genius. His X-O Manowar is godlike. I can't wait.

Well I won't lie, the first thing that hit me was devastation that Johns is leaving. But reading this thread, it looks like Vendetti might not be such a bad move. And interesting move, still, to switch writers only a few issues into getting to know Baz. JLA #1 out as well, so the character is expanding. It'll be an adventure, seeing where Vendetti goes with all this. I'm rather looking forward to it.

I agree 100%. Billy Tan's name on a book usually keeps me away.

So Red Lanterns isn't getting cancelled? Geez...they really want to hang on to that title, don't they?

Weird that Larfleeze is getting his own book...but I kinda like Giffen, so...I think i'll give it a go.

Pretty interested in Jordan on New Guardians. I have been like most of his stuff lately, Team 7 was awesome and Shadowman is awesomer, and he made me like Deathstroke again (too bad two of those titles got canned though...)

The rest are eh, guess I'll see them when they come out and decide then.

Looks like I'll need to add Red Lanterns and GL Corps to my list. Fialkov is really good.

Larfleeze also looks quite interesting...

I'm less concerned now with who is taking over the Green Lantern universe. More than willing to give these books a shot. I had dropped Red Lanterns a while back, considering getting it again with the new creative team behind it.

All I took from this is that Bernard Chang is off Demon Knights. That freaking blows. Guess I'll have to pick up Green Lantern Corps.

The Larfleeze book sounds interesting, and I'm always down for some Scott Kolins art. The rest of the teams seem solid, but I'm bummed that Johns is leaving GL proper and that Tomasi isn't going to be writing Guy anymore.

Hm that looks more like the GL image, I guess style doesn't have to be 100% consistent. Maybe it's the resolution of the GL picture.

Can't wait to see what Robert Venditti has in store for GREEN LANTERN and how Billy Tan will sketch out the GREEN LANTERN characters and panels. Really want to see where Justin Jordan will take the character of Kyle Rayner and the direction he plans on taking with his new position writing for GREEN LANTERN: NEW GUARDIANS after he leaves the title of DEATHSTROKE behind during the next cancellation wave. I really hoped that someone of high popularity would have replaced Geoff Johns, but if it would have been any other writer it would've been Robert Venditti, a New York Times best-selling author and writer of X-O MANOWAR. I really admired Billy Tan's style when he was drawing for UNCANNY X-MEN and believe he'll deliver some great panels while working for GREEN LANTERN.

AGH WHY??? I'VE WANTED TO DROP RED LANTERNS FOR A LONG TIME AND NOW FIALKOV IS WRITING IT!!

I HATE YOU GREEN LANTERN EDITOR WHOSE NAME ESCAPES ME AT THE MOMENT!

I think Venditti is staying on Demon Knights.But I checked the future solicits of Demon Knights..and I see there is a change in the art department.We will miss Bernard Chang on this one,I guess...

Looking forward to these, definitely excited but still really sad that Johns is finally leaving GL. Atleast these new teams seem like good matchups. Maybe Red Lanterns will actually be bearable now.

Well I refuse to read anything about GL unless it's written by Johns. So, bye Green Lantern.

Hopefully the new writer makes Red Lanterns good. They're great characters, they just need a proper writer.

And I'm very intrigued about the Larfleez title. I'll have to see if it's good.
