New Creative Team Headed to BATGIRL

I think they are focusing the book to a younger female audience, which is cool but its coming off my pulllist. I am glad to see babs Tarr getting more work, she is a great artist. but like a few people have said it feels more a step backward than forward.

Seriously, what's with this fetish for superhero costumes to be "practical?" The entire GENRE is inherently unrealistic, and none of the costumes are practical. NONE.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. However, it makes me feel younger, as I'm the same age as Babs but she always feels so much more.... ahead(?).

I still think it should be an alternative book, like "before the current series". It's like a regression to the character :P

I know New 52 Barbara suppose to be young but come on...she is beyond this teenager crap. This would be more fitting for Stephanie Brown ( kinda glad they didn't do this to her though )

I won't judge the story until I see it but the first impression ? Not. Good.

Simone wasn't fired from this, it was creative differences, she said it on her twitter herself. But I like the idea of Gotham City Sirens returning. That was fun series.

it never ceases to amaze me what comic fans can find to complain about. Tops and bottoms? Boots and selfies? seriously..

My only question is, Are they going to go the complete opposite direction of where she is at now. While I didn't like the armor suit, and the overly macabre rouges gallery she has acquired I don't think she need to get low tech and go bubble gum pop either.

If this was a 'Here comes The Batgirl' title or something outside her main book, I would be pretty excited to read this, This look does not fit in with the rest of the new 52. trying to picture this look with Birds of Prey or Harley and Poison Ivy...and I can't see it yet.

That being said, a cool suit and an creative team I am not familiar with, I will be cautiously optimistic to see where he stories go from here.

Really don't like the sound of this and think the new look is dumb. I want to read Simone's Batgirl forever :(

Ugh...the pathetic 5-year timeline strikes again. Barbara as a character is not....this immature brat. I don't see how DC is expecting this to be relatible to the comic book readers who typically also hate the "selfies, duck-faces, and twilight" vibe. This just screams out of touch and trying to grab the golden goose that are new readers. Quite frankly....I mean this is the nicest way possible...but as a comic book fan I don't want 'Beliebers' and 'twi-hards' becoming a base of the comic book industry. It will ruin future stories.

Also...considering barbara's character and the mental age she should have...I'm just going to consider this series an insane book of Barbara having an early mid-life crisis. Sound good?

Superheroes taking selfies is a natural fit, all they do is pose and strut around anyway.

it was the only tittle that i had been truly enjoying ever since the New 52 began. Barbara was back in triumphanly lika a real bad-ass, i only hope this change doesn't make her look like a silly girl.

She swapped out her high tech armor for clothing? Talk about a step back already.

If I want a light tone and rollicking fun I'll by the Teen Titan's book.

I love the outfit. That jacket is sick! If I was a girl I'd be posting about buying a jacket based off it on leather cult right now :P

The boots and gloves are a mistake. It makes her suit look crappy. I wish it was like this but with the awesome gloves and boots she had before.

I'm glad some people like this, but I am not one of them. It looks so so wrong, the art. I will miss Gail but it's ok someone else to give it a shot. But with new art comes a new light hear-ted direction. Ugh...I may try it but right now I lean towards dropping this book.

Well I was slightly irked when Xu found Gail was off the book but I like the sound of this looks like it'll be fun.

I shouldn't really be so quick to judge...I was pretty harsh on the new Grayson and after actually reading a bit of it. It wasn't completely character ruining as I had thought. I'll give this a shot...

But

The costume/Uniform why oh why would someone from the Bat Family need such a Cosplay like suit. Don't the suits that Bruce provides equipped with a lot more protection than what they look like?? aren't they laced with some sort of kevlar (insert comic book science)

Can't say I like the changes. While lightening up the tone is a good idea it seems like they plan to good a bit too far with it. Also not digging the art or new costume at all.

The costume looks awful. It looks like Hit-Girl from the movies, not Batgirl.

Third. Even with its ups and downs it was a great series.

Not gonna lie, this sounds like a VERY Stephanie Brown-ish approach.

I think this would have been far more likable take on Batgirl if it was introduced at the start of the new 52, yknow and then we see this super happy go lucky teen dectective go down the dark path.

The new costume is fresh, cool, and refreshing from the usual, boring, featureless, spandex every hero wears. Now she has some variety.

If only they could get batman to stop wearing so much gray.

I like Simone as a writer but I don't think Batgirl was any good. At best, average so this is perhaps a good development. Hope Gail gets something else more fitting for her. As for the changes, I'm open to them. Batgirl needs something that distinguishes it from the other books and this could be it. Like how Nightwing went to Grayson. Otherwise, the books act like ancillary material that is forever trapped in Batmans shadow. DCs really fixing up their Bat line with this and Catwoman. Rumours say even Batwoman might end and she gets out on a new Birds of Prey.

I have been loving Simone's run, and she did her best and had a long run. I'm ready for something new and fresh.

One more thing, Why not just put Steph Brown in this instead because this doesn't fit Babs. This looks like Steph Brown with red hair.
