New Creative Team for THE FLASH Announced plus the Return of Wally West!

@arturocalakayvee: I am not too familiar with Garth and I personally have yet to see anyone mention him/her. I didn't think Donna Troy was so popular and I didn't know she wasn't in the Nu52.

However, yes I totally forgot about Cass. I personally only have seen Stephanie Brown, Wally West, Peter Parker, Cassandra Cain, and Richard Rider complaints.

I felt bad for the Rider, Brown, and Cain fans because they have the biggest chance of not coming back for a while. I constantly think Rider will be the next Barry Allen, gone for a decade. However, Parker was obviously going to return and West took the spotlight from Allen for a decade; I felt no sympathy for Allen taking the spotlight and exacting "revenge" on West.

i can see wally west never been affected by fashpoint, he was stuck in the speedforce or some bs like that and he comes back knowing everyone and no one knowing him

They also mentioned him in the one of the early issues of Red Hood but we need a physical appearance not just a name drop :P

Among my friends we often had a debate, Was Wally West popular, or was The Flash popular. Thanks to the JLU animated show, the wisecracking version seems to be the one that comes to mind first. However with the recent Justic League movies, Barry has been in the suit, and assume with the upcoming JL:WAR, he will be as well. But the non-comic book folks wouldn't be able to tell the difference between Barry and Wally.

This may very well by one of those "Be careful what you wish for, because you might just get it" moments. As I look back on it, I can't think of one single character that I preferred the New 52 version vs the previous versions.

Some characters are pretty identical to the older ones, but others they have tried to put a new spin on them and I think the new versions just ruin the characters, not build them up. The Teen Titans, Firestorm,Captain Atom, and Mr Terrific come to mind.

Really have no clue where they would go with this, as they have never really hinted at other speedsters related to Barry in the books I have read. I do hope they keep the Barry/Scientific mind/speed theory approach to his abilities while Wally it was more about his experience and determination. I like the blue look however, it will allow Wally to stand out and blaze his own path easily if he returns to the level of popularity he once had *fingers crossed*

Wow! I can't wait to see how they handle Wally. I am really excited by this though I hope they don't push Barry aside. Barry Allen is my favorite Flash and I believe he is THE Flash. Also maybe this also means we could be seeing Donna Troy. I miss Donna.

Daniel was in prison for an extended period of time before he became the reverse Flash. If you'll remember that's originally why Iris was trying to buddy up to Barry (trying to absolve her brother) and why Barry turned her down. So it's doubtful that Daniel had custody of Wally in the first place, if Wally will even be introduced as a kid.

Way I see it: Iris' brother Daniel, the current Reverse-Flash, has a kid (Wally) and, due to Daniel's being in prison, Wally is given over to Iris' protection. Wally gets his powers from some sort of accident. Or, because of Daniel's connection to the speed force, Wally, an ancestor of Daniel, also has a connection to the speed force and uses it to travel back in time.

So happy to finally know who is taking over this title now that booch and francis are on detective. I for one like Brett Booth's art, not as unique as francis and his amazing work but very "high superhero" style.

I haven't read very much of Wally as the Flash. (I just started reading again last year and hadn't read the Flash before other than some DC collected digest things my grandma got me around 82) I recently picked up some scattered Mark Waid back issues and they were very interesting (Dark Flash, Terminal Velocity). They had me consulting the Wiki left and right figuring out who the hell all these other speedsters were.

I wonder how they will work Wally into the New 52? I for one would read two Flash books, say one main flash one and another "Family Flash" book with all the different speedsters from different worlds and timelines.

I can't wait for April now to see this team get started as well as Boochipaul on Detective.

Manapul and Booch tried very, very hard to include Wally in their story. They threw multiple pitches at Didio and tried to sneak a cameo of him in the background of early art drafts and editorial brought the boot down.

Which is why it confuses me that they're bringing Wally back as soon as Manabooch are off the Flash.

I had a feeling Wally was coming back because of JL3000 (The clone is very VERY clearly a clone of Wally and not Barry, he even has the same limitation Wally had as kid Flash for years, lol), I just don't understand this whole process or if DC's honest to goodness reason was "We gotta wait a couple years and we might as well do it with a new creative team," which I question because of Didio's lack of candor about it

Gonna miss the Brian Buccellato and Francis Manapul creative team. They made me give a damn about Barry despite my favouret flashes being Wally and Jay and The artwork was stunning (that's deffinantly something im going to miss as i'm not the biggest Brett Booth fan, as his characters always seem squished to me).

Yeah, something like that could work too. I wonder who will be faster lol this time around.

It is a good month for complaining fans. First, Parker is confirmed to return, just in time for the movie, what a shocker. Now, Wally West returns in April as well. All that is left is Richard Rider.

I always preferred Wally West but I find it odd he did return so soon. I remember hearing he was suppose to be gone for the longest.

Anyways, I like the possible new blue suit. It is wishful thinking, but I'd love it if my imagination comes true and West gets his own new identity, like Flashback, feel free to take it DC.

Damn, the suit looks awesome. I hope he becomes a different persona other than Flash though, I really don't want Barry Allen to just get shoved out of the way for Wally. I like both of them a lot and wouldn't like to see that.

I actually really like Brett Booth's art. He isn't my favorite but I think he could be a really good fit for The Flash. In any case, I'm pretty excited about this news even though I don't have much of a connection to Wally. Started reading comics around the start of the New 52 so Barry is my Flash.

I'm excited but cautious.

I really, really dislike Vendetti's GL run and I've never been a fan of Booth (atleast give him a different colorist or something).

I don't get why they just toss Wally back after Manabooch's run when they were the ones fighting to actually try to include him, and now with a worse creative team they're bringing Wally back. I assume it's gonna be some time/universe travel shenanigans and not just Wally as Iris' nephew in the main universe.

If that's not the case and they're just reintroducing Wally as a kid and as Iris nephew then they're also gonna have to rebuild the entire relationship. Originally in The Flash series, Wally came into the story as very close to Iris, and if he's Daniel's kid, Iris almost certainly has no idea he exists as of now.

There's quite a lot to speculate on, and even more to raise a perturbed eyebrow over, but atleast DC is finally recognizing one of the best characters they ever made, despite having the gall to throw him away.

I hope they do like what they did with GL in a way, have Barry be the official "Flash of the JL" and Wally replacing him as protector of Central City. etc

I wonder which DC character Robert Vendetti plans on writing next. First GL, now Flash. Who's next? On a side note, I want a GL/Flash book. I wonder if Wally will get his own title or if it will be like GL or GLC where he shares the spotlight with Barry.
