New Constantine Trailer Features Dr Fate's Helmet

NBC's Constantine digs deeper into DC's mystical characters in this newest trailer.

It seems that NBC's upcoming television series, Constantine, will be dipping into other mystical elements in the DCU. In this newest trailer for the show, you can clearly see the helmet of Dr. Fate being picked up. No confirmation yet that we'll actually see Kent Nelson put the helmet on, but it's cool to see a very recognizable item in the show. Does the mean that we could be seeing other DCU mystical elements in the show? Check the trailer out for yourself and let us know what you think. NBC has slated Constantine to debut on Friday, October 24th, one week before Halloween.

The original video had been removed, but we found someone else had uploaded it, so check this out, in case this one gets removed as well.

Looks tv shows are the only way other DC characters besides Superman and Batman will get any spotlight.

Remember when Chloe became Dr. Fate on Smallville? That was cool. I'm not even being sarcastic - Smallville is still a huge guilty pleasure of mine

While the audio sounds odd. I kinda like the idea of the show tapping into DC's mystical corners rather than remaining apart from it.

Pretty sweet. Reminiscent of the first Arrow promo and Slade's mask

this and Gotham look fantastic but I can't help but wish that they were all on CW with Arrow and Flash and set in the same universe as well

I hope it's just an easter egg.

I'm glad I don't reflexively have a negative reaction to all news posted on this site like some users do. Must be a tough way to go through life.

It's so good to find another Smallville fan, there really are so few of us here.

Wouldn't that be abit backwards? Gotham in the same universe with Flash and Arrow?A kid bruce while Green Arrow and Flash are older than him

This looks pretty entertaining. I'll definitely give it a go.

If they were on CW we'd get story lines about Constantine's made up sister getting DUI's, overdone on and off again girl friends, teen angst characters, and other obligatory CW melodrama to make it more relatable to their main audience of teenage girls.

@dreamfall31: except the shows on CW so far are, you know, good. You sound like someone who hasn't watched Arrow since the first episode.

Just because someone doesn't like something you do doesn't mean you can start bashing them.

Gotham would be set in the past?

except that the comics are full of this stuff....remember when Speedy was addicted to heroin? or how about when Hal Jordan got a DUI? or that Kyle Rayner is now dating Hal's ex-girlfriend? Comics are full of drama...all stories are

Yes, I like many things and I go on every review of a comic I enjoy to praise it and I have a thread in every forum for a character I enjoy and I post in them daily if not weekly. But because you gloss over all the good things and only look at the bad because it disagrees with your opinion, you somehow have an idea I don't like anything.... nice one.

I think one of the reason that Constantine is not on CW is cause it would be too similar to Supernatural.

Looking forward to watching this.

I'm pretty sure now that the girl will become Zatanna, since Constatine knows/knew her father, who mysteriously "dissapeared/died".

Also, now this happened, I demand Klarion appearing in the show!

Dammit that still bothers me.

CONSTANTEEN ughhhhh

i really want to see deadman in the show

LOOKS SO GOOD!! They got the character and the tone perfect.

The one live action comic book show I may actually watch.

This looks awesome, can't wait!

A few mystical DC characters should show up so that Del Toro can make a feature film with them all and include folks like Etrigan, Deadman, and Swamp Thing...

Does anyone know when/if this is going to be aired in the UK? From what I've heard (which is... well, nothing), it doesn't look like it will.

Posted by COBRAMORPH

If only DC had a very high profile female character whose backstory was in the more magical side of things, & would be an instant ratings boost, or nail in the coffin, if she'd somehow show up on the show.

But hopefully, Raven is cast & they get some hot chick wearing a blue bathing suit the entire time. I also really would like to see DC's version of Morgan Le Fey , that gold armor is just really awesome.

@danhimself: Why would you want it on CW? that channel is low budget, and is one of the lowest viewed networks on TV. Although to be fair, this show has a 10:00 time slot on Friday nights, so it probably won't do much better.

I don't like this portrayal of Constantine. He looks the part but he acts too giddy and high inhibition.

That actually does concern me. Putting a show on a Friday night is already a death blow, but then putting on late night...well come on! We'll be lucky if it gets any viewers.

That is pretty awesome. I really hope Kent Nelson is on the show and a regular.

Arrow is doing well enough to warrant the Flash spin-off and most of their other shows last forever....Smallville went 10 seasons and Supernatural is in it's ninth season...then they've got iZombie also starting up on CW as well....I think it would be great to have all of the DC shows on one network

That's what I love about Dr. Fate, anyone can really put on the helmet but if you can handle it is a different story ;) plus I find this cool because apparently in the future Constantine finds the helmet lol.

I'm excited for this show. Hope it's good.

True, not to mention it's hard to knock that when it worked for Smallville BIGTIME I mean show only lasted 10 years, because that totally happens with every comic book show(much less TV show in general) with popularity so big is spawns a comic? lol

It seems people whine over "drama, relationships" on TV but ignore it in comics lol.

Posted by i_dont_like_comics

this looks like the new 'supernatural' and this is just simple bait for the hopeful comic book fan.

Posted by Kal'smahboi

I don't mind them including the wider DC magic universe, but I really hope they keep the tone more like Hellblazer and keep the "comicbookiness" to a minimum. I want a horror series, not a magic series.

I don't like this

Like that Daredevil thread where you do nothing but complain about how Mark Waid's current version of it is terrible? Yeah, great example.

So one example of a thread that's longer active.. good one. How about the Iron Fist thread? Or the Punisher thread? Or the X-Force thread? Or the Blade thread? Or the Elektra thread?
