New 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' Concept Art

Bucky grapples with Steve Rogers as they're surrounded by complete chaos. Yeah, it's worth looking at.

We've already seen a good deal of set photos and concept art from Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but this latest bit of concept art posted by Entertainment Weekly is simply awesome and had to be shared. Illustrated by Ryan Meinerding, the image reveals James 'Bucky' Barnes clashing with Captain America. The image of these two going at it is really impressive, but the background adds a whole extra layer of awesomeness. It looks like a war is breaking out behind them and we can spot Falcon, a S.H.I.E.L.D. Quinjet and another very sophisticated aerial vehicle (on the right).

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is directed by Anthony & Joe Russo and will come out April 4, 2014.

Expect more news about Marvel Studios' Phase Two as we head to San Diego Comic-Con next week!

Re: Gail Simone Won't Be Writing Batgirl's Zero Year Tie-In

The other thing is that DC made some grand comment that "we didn't push Zero Year as a tie-in! The creators came to us saying the loved the idea and wanted to be involved!"

Yeah. The creators. Who you then toss off the book they said they were excited to write?

Can't have it both ways, Harras.

Also, I won't say that Batgirl has been absolutely brilliant. But let's face facts... We can never be sure, in any book, if we're getting the story the writer wanted to tell, or the one that they were forced to rewrite (or was rewritten for them) at the last minute. Since Gail has written some of my favorite comics before this New 52, I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt. And it's not like this is anywhere near as crap as Teen Titans has been since issue #1.

Yeah. I think it's fine just for Winter Soldier. Because it seems to be a more grounded political-type thriller, so Falcon looking like that makes sense. But if he does join the Avengers, I definitely wanna see a more traditional red costume.
