'Mouse Guard' Creator Headed To London!

Want to meet 'Mouse Guard' creator, David Petersen?

The one disadvantage of living across the pond from the United States is that the opportunities to meet comic book creators are far less frequent, which is why when it was announced that ' Mouse Guard' creator David Petersen was scheduled to do a signing in London this week, I could not wait to share the good news! If you live in London, and want to get your copy of 'Mouse Guard' signed you should definitely head to Forbidden Planet Megastore on November 7th!

The one-hour signing will run from 1 to 2 p.m. on November 7th, 2009 at the Forbidden Planet Megastore, 179 Shaftesbury Avenue, London, England. The Mouse Guard series is an all-ages publication that any reader would enjoy this holiday season.
"I’m thrilled to be signing in the UK for the first time!” exclaimed Petersen. “In the past. I have heard from vocal fans asking about a UK appearance, so I hope this can be the first of many.”
Amongst various accolades and awards, Mouse Guard has received an avalanche of positive reviews. Tom McLean of Variety said, “This is a fun book about warrior mice in a fantasy vein that reads like a mix of ‘Lord of the Rings’ and ‘Stuart Little.’ Petersen’s art is wonderfully textured and the story is a good one, suitable for kids.”

If you plan on attending the signing, be sure to let us know and take plenty of pictures! Petersen happens to be one of my personal favorite comic book creators, and this is a great opportunity for those of you who have not yet read 'Mouse Guard' to pick up your copy!

@Babs: Oh nuts! I missed the bearskin!  Sorry Babs!  He's now a Royal Mouse Guard :D
I'm sure there are a LOT of comic fans around London who'll flock to see him.  Anyway, I'm not good at queuing for singings.  I start to feel dorky & nervous :p

First up, I'd like to say hello to the Scottish people (as a Scotsman myself living in London). Secondly, Forbidden Planet isn't the only London based comic shop with signings. Gosh, which is just round the corner, also has signings, including earlier in the year Alan Moore. check out their blog (yes I buy my comics there.) And on the price of tickets, it aint cheap getting over to New York for a comic con - but if you can afford it, it is worth it.

I'll see what I can do. Kidnapping is not my forte.

@Peterobe: London has a lot of comic shops that are better than Forbidden Planet... but this thread is for Babs to drum up support for David Petersen, so you have to go in my place ;)

if i can i will be going to Forbidden Planet for Petersen and Gosh! for Eddie Campbell and
Alec: The Years Have Pants Omnibus . If I get my timing right.

@Peterobe: You're lucky... Most of November is Comica: London International Comics Festival.
