Megan Fox Cast in the 'TMNT' Film

after all this time of Bay saying this is gonna be a legit movie and then we get this kinda news?

Tell me, honestly--what difference will Megan Fox's casting have on this film? I'm not claiming the film will be good or bad, I'm asking how much of an impact does her casting have on the film? I'm going to say very little. The film won't succeed or fail because of Megan Fox. Katie Holmes didn't ruin Batman Begins, did she, even though everyone hated her in that film. The Batman franchise didn't succeed because of Michael Caine's portrayal as Alfred; he did a great job, but his role was too small to make or break the movie. So why the hell is it necessary to have a high speed come apart because Megan Fox was cast in a minor roll in TMNT? We get it, you don't like her; it doesn't really matter.

Agreed. As for my standpoint, I would only want her to play a red-headed April just becuase how hot see can actually be playing that kind of role. Hopefuly we'll see Splinter train April O'Neil (Megan Fox) how to fight and can see her in some action scenes. I'm just saying, her in Transformers...complete gorgeous!

She is not a good actress, but she is not the worst. As long as they make her hair look the part, I think it will be fine. She won't make or break this movie.

I want to see Cody Jones in a TMNT film or another show one of these days. I'm a huge April fan to, but Megan Fox playing her is just wrong. I think, she doesn't look right for the role. I might give it a chance, but we'll see what happens.

As I said before, I don't have any problem with Megan Fox as an actress, I don't understand the rabid hatred towards her. But as to why I'm commenting on the article, I happen to love the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Everything about this project sounds god awful. I don't want this bastardization of a movie to get made. I don't know where they stand plotwise anymore but last I heard they weren't mutants and they might not have even been teens, and there was a turtle planet and then they were talking about making Casey Jones the star with the turtles as his supporting cast. Whether he's producing or directing, Bay's vision for the Turtles is sorely misguided.

That would be a COMPLETE mess if they did. I'm not sure what they have plotted for the story line, but they better not change their original origin around to help them out with their film - for us comic fans, it's all about reference and continuity and if they don't hit this film on the dot I think it will be a disaster. If this is so, we need to make a forum of why Michael Bay should not be producing the movie. Really love how the 1990 trilogy ended and with that one animated movie they made isn't contributing, as well. I'm jus saying the Turtles better be realistic looking (topping the characters they made in 1990), they better have the same mutated origin, Splinter - the smart father he is, Casey - the same Casey he's depicted to be (with complete reference of the comic book), Shredder definitely needs to be in it, and sooo much other things that you got me thinking about now that you brought up the rumors of what he might be planning on doing. I'm serious, if he screws this up we're definitely running a Hate thread for this dude. I mean he made Transformers almost perfect, so he better not slack off on this film and create a complete bomb to ruin our childhood memories.

Transformers being perfect is debatable but yeah google Michael Bay's TMNT. The project was supposed to be out years ago but fan backlash towards leaked scripts and plots was so violent that they canned the project and put it on ice. Until now apparently. I'm assuming not much has changed since Bay's attitude at the time was along the lines of "F*** you fans, I know what I'm doing, you guys don't know what you want." blahblahblah. It's not looking promising.

Wow that's crazy. I'm going to have to look more into this for sure. I remember when they cancelled the production of the movie and postponed the release date of it almost 3 years ago. Maybe Megan Fox is right though, what if he is HITLER!

I mean Bay doesn't make good movies but I don't think he's committing genocide. Unless I hear something really different than what they had planned and stick to the mythology of the franchise I will ignore this movie as much as I can and just enjoy the incredible new cartoon on Nickelodeon.

Agreed, but he's also an expertise at computer animation, live-action films, and special effects such as the Transformer films he produced which makes me think he'll be a great asset to the TMNT films. Hopefully there'll be more screenwriters that are very dedicated on what they do (more than Bay), stick to the Ninja Turtles mythos (like you said) and expand on the stories. If they don't and I see that they haven't made any progress with this production, I'll be pissed! But again, we just have to wait and see how the movie turns out, hoping for the best and for it to be EPIC!

Love the animated series..I'm actually watching re-runs of it right now - the episode, Monkey Brains; and how Mikey got bummed out he didn't name the T-Phone before Donatello did and that Splinter will be training April, ninjutsu...every episode has there laughs.

i cant bring myself to complain about megan fox. she probably shouldnt be in the movie and i should be mad. but its megan fox .1 step forward, 2 steps back.

I'm a supporter of Bay and the Transformers Movies, but even I have to ask WHY to Megan Fox in a TMNT movie. It just doesn't make sense.
