Matt Kindt and Geoff Johns to Write Martian Manhunter backups in JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA

There are a couple things in that article that bothered me in this article, mainly:

Kindt plans on using these backups to take a look at Manhunter's strengths, which are mostly physical, and then bringing the focus onto the weaker side of his being, which is mental.

But seeing as that is not a direct quote from Kindt, and all the direct quotes that are here really seem like they will be taking Manhunter in a really cool new spy direction, I'm very much on-board. I usually hate having a backup story in any non-anthology series, but since MM tragically doesn't have a book of his own, I think in this case it is justified. Can't wait for JLA even more now.

I totally agree that Cyborg's lack of emphasis in the New 52 is a major oversight and rather embarrassing for DC.

But just because they continue to drop the ball with that character doesn't mean that MM doesn't deserve some spotlight. After all, he already went through the huge slap in the face of being retconned out of the original JL line-up to make room for Cyborg in the first place.

Sooo happy to hear this but I guess they Hinted this Earlier. Johns is trying to set up both sazham and manhunter for Success , what better way to do this buy Forced attrition. Very smart.

No it wasn't. And I don't mean to begrudge MM fans of their moment either. I just feel like since putting Cyborg in that slot over MM, they've been racing away from that decision and I don't know why. Ideally, we'd have both characters with solo stories in some capacity.

I can certainly agree with that. And I think most everyone would agree that Cyborg deserves his own series more than Vibe at least. Hopefully wave 4 will finally address the Cyborg problem.
