Matt Fraction and the Inhumans set out to Change the Marvel Universe

Marvel is putting the Inhumans front and center in an event which will bring massive changes to the Marvel universe.

Following 'Infinity,' the House of Ideas is bringing the Inhumans back into the picture and in a big way. 'Inhumanity' will be all about Terrigen Mists being released on Earth and because of that, millions of people (Inhuman descendants) will develop new powers (just like when Crossbones got heat vision over in THUNDERBOLTS). The primary book surrounding the event will be INHUMAN and it'll be written by Matt Fraction (HAWKEYE, FANTASTIC FOUR). Fraction spoke to Entertainment Weekly a bit about the event. “We’re telling science-fiction stories, but really it’s about race, gender, sexual equality. It’s a very relevant, pertinent metaphor.”

Hello there, Nighrcrawler.

Axel Alonso, the Editor-in-Chief at Marvel Comics, compared the event to Game of Thrones, saying the book will be about the Inhuman society growing and then breaking apart into various fractions. Marvel promises the impact of this event will last awhile and, according to Fraction, it'll apparently lure everyone into the mix. “There is a secret superhero kingdom, and you might belong there. What do you do? And what does Iron Man do? We’re turning the entire Marvel universe into a potential battlefield. And regular people are in the middle.”

'Inhumanity' will begin this December.

As long as you are doing it legally. If not, don't spam the forums with your illegal boastings.

Old School Spider-Man?! Wolverine gets a new look?! And Nightcrawler returns?! Be still my heart!!!

Posted by Hawkguy

Sounds cool, I like a lot of the characters being showcased here. I guess Parker will be coming back, which is nice to see. Another event though... Idk.

I'll give it a shot, Fraction rocks so it could be good!

Unless they are giving us Parker back I don't care.

Looks like Wolverine is getting back to his Samurai roots, Spidey's back, and Nightcrawler post-resurrection has gotten way back into his faith.

I really hope Peter isn't coming back yet I like Otto more and more

Marvel still has to gain my trust back, it's just been so lazy and 2D lately

Nightcrawler? Parker-Spidey? I'm there. Even if the main story sounds like what Marvel has been doing with mutants for more than 30 years.

Angela? Meh.

Marvel don't do events anymore... they just do over market and bloated stories that their PR Machine ruins

Sounds interesting. Finally an interesting Marvel event series

Posted by longbowhunter

Wonder whose on art? Is this an ongoing? Like Wolverine's new look.

An event that will bring massive change? I doubt it. To me events in Marvel are to change the status quo and it's not that "massive." In my opinion.

I think the changes will be Inhumans will be getting a new series, something will happen in the Spidey-Verse, and Kurt might finally come back. Some characters might leave (die), Angela might get a series or will be involved in a series... and ... uhhh... possibly more new series.

I look at it like this Marvel cancels a series and the plan to replace it with a new series and they introduce the idea through an event.
That's just me though.

***Just announced!*** Marvel Faction Wars, a new event that will change the Marvel Universe unlike anything before! Beginning one week before the end of Inhumanity!

Seriously, is it really change if it's always changing and nothing has time to just be the same?

I really like Matt Fraction written stuff :)

Glad I'm not the only one to notice that Spider-man isn't sporting his "Superior" costume...

I find it funny hearing people complain that this is too soon for another Event and that Infinity has not even come out yet those same people are saying how they love Trinity War and Forever Evil will be amazing.

So it's like Spider Island, but on a world wide scale and more dangerous. Sounds cool. How funny would it be to see a bunch of mutant haters get powers and attack the X-men with their own powers?

Posted by The_Titan_Lord

Nice.

Posted by TheFirstLantern

I shall get this because of The Inhumans, and if its as good as Fractions Hawkeye then even better.

Posted by krexxxx4

1- Nightcrawler

2-Wolverine's new look is badass

3- WINTER SOLDIER!!!

4- Spidey is in his original suit. Will he be back to his original personality as well?

(highly unlikely, but either way i dont care because i really like superior)

Ok so everyone else is also upset that Marvel has yet another event that will change its universe. They've just lost any impact by now. IF YOU ASK ME Marvel seems to be kind of running themselves into a corner trying to outdo DC by using flashy teamups. Solo books like Daredevil are still excellent Marvel! It doesn't have to be "go big or go home."

Though Kurt is cool :)

They're the kind of people that can't accept that Marvel issue's sells better than DC. It's basically just all talk and no results. Marvel is just doing better than DC nowadays.

Posted by The_Titan_Lord

Is Marvel seriously doing three company-wide events in one year?

If it's selling why not?

Posted by Angelo2113

I was very excited about the possibility of an Inhumans series until I saw this. It just seems like a rip off of the X-Men. Between this and Uncanny Avengers I don't understand why marvel is trying to assassinate one of their most popular franchises by taking away everything unique about it.

Marvel Cinema can't have mutants so Marvel Comics gives them something else.

I would agree on that. I mean I was not a fan of AOU but most of Marvels big events have been entertaining and that is all I can really ask for. DC's crossover events I have found lately have fizzled out or have just been many unnecessary crossovers and tie ins.

Posted by ClintsEvilTwin

@jamdamage: People will always complain (especially about Marvel events). Give a guy a million dollars and he'll bitch that he has to pay taxes on it. True Story.

Placing bets now on Wanda and Pietro being referred to as Inhumans in Avengers 2. Stupidest shit I've seen to date.

Can we at least get through an event before announcing an event?

Never! Actually, that's kind of how things go. After Flashpoint, New 52. After Trinity War, Forever Evil. After AvX, Marvel Now. After Infinity, Inhumanity (Marvel Now 2).

Edited by lionman

dunno about you guys, but im excited about my boy....the one who can annihilate everyone on the cover art with a whisper...

(Sigh) Another pointless event that forgets the details of the past one. Where have we seen this before?

Marvel Events keep on selling so it won't change until they don't. I usually enjoy reading Marvel Events as if I were watching a popcorn movie. Keiron Gillen saved AvX for me though. At least AvX made Cyclops a freaking bada** and in the aftermath Dennis Hopeless redeemed Hope for me in Cable and X-Force. All is well.
