'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Renewed and 'Agent Carter' Picked Up

We'll be getting more S.H.I.E.L.D. action in the TV Cinematic Universe.

With the season finale of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. coming up next week, a big question was whether or not the show would be returning for a second season. Critics felt the show had a slow start but recently the action and suspense has been picking up, largely in part with the connections to Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

The good news is the show has been renewed for a second season, beginning this Fall.

But that's not all the news. ABC has picked up Marvel's Agent Carter.

If you saw the Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter short, you saw Peggy Carter's start with S.H.I.E.L.D. after Cap disappeared. We can expect to see Hayley Atwell on a weekly basis.

We'll have to stay tuned for more information.

@razzatazz: Universal Studios still own the rights to the Sub-Mariner, so there's no chance at all of seeing Namor in any of Marvel's films, television shows, or Netflix series. At least, not right now. I doubt they can bring in the original Human Torch, either. Which is a shame, because it means we'll never get a sweet World War II era Invaders film. Of course, that still leaves several World War II era characters that Marvel could introduce in the show. So, keep your fingers crossed. I, for one, would like to see Union Jack and Spitfire make the scene.
