Remender writing all these characters? In space? Fighting the Phoenix Force? I'm sold.

But wait, there's one thing in all this I don't get. Jean has been in The White Hot Room collecting pieces of the Phoenix Force for years to make her and it whole again, where is she? What happened in The White Hot Room to separate the two and for the PF to return to Earth? I smell a retcon coming on..

@CrimsonTempest: They never said anything about no tie-ins. They only said that there would be one newly created title tie-in in the form of AvX: Versus.

I wonder if Venom will still be part of the team by this issue. You would think the symbiote would love a chance to go back to space...

I am totally confused! Captain Britain is part of the new line up of Secret Avengers right yet Thor is also in this story but he's dead! It makes no sense!

Only Thor matters in this fight and of course they fail although u would think Steve would go through the old member book and call photon, quasar and any eternal he could get

What was the point of killing Thor off just to bring him back for the next big event? Marvel confuses the hell out of me sometimes I swear to God.

He isn't back for this event, Fear Itself: Thor points out he wasn't going to remain dead right at the end of the book and Mighty Thor has him already prepping to duke it out with the God Eater. The only person we won't see for a while after Fear Itself seems to be Odin since he locked himself up in his new Asgard and abdicated his throne to the All-Mothers.

Be that as it may, I still dislike the use of death or supposed death for mere shock value in stories when it should serve some purpose and keep the character in question in death for a while. This is why you can't kill off popular characters because due to popular demand they're brought back relatively quickly. Superman, Batman and Spider-Man never remained dead as you can't permanently kill these 3 for long. Death in comic books should be reserved for secondary characters so that their death is more permanent and meaningful.

That's really good. I second that.

I love Remender's work but I'm definitely gonna skip the tie in issues to this so this saves me 4 bucks :)

I can honestly say now I'm big event free in monthly singles now :)

Wasn't happy when they announced that Secret Avenger was going to be a part of this event. Oh well. If it survived Fear Itself, it can survive another pointless crossover.

Beast siding with the Avengers sans being on the Secret Avengers or just some Marvel misdirection?
