Marvel Teases New 'First' Series

Could not care less

at FIRST *audience laughter* I was hoping this teaser was relating to something like The first superhero in Marvel's history and that we could get a solo series of Namor the Submeriner. I know people will bring up the fact that Human Torch was more of a hero in the beginning than Namor, but Jim Hammond should not be resurrected under any circumstances. Marvel has done a good job with keeping him at peace.

either a origin series or the very first superhero/villain to appear , or which one the many marvel characters was able to comment first.

I hope they're one shots of origin stories or something along those lines.

hopefully its the "First" new book to not take a big dump and go off the rails within the first year.

Marvel needs to stop making new editions to their comic books and worry about working on the already started Marvel Now comics and make them better... It's about quality not quantity, step up your game Marvel.

I noticed that some names are bolder than some, could these characters have a bigger role than the others.

I see I'm not the only one who noticed Hazmat there and X-23 not there.

Which, first of all, would be insanely stupid of them to do anything with Hazmat at all if she is going to die soon in Arena. Why reprint her origin or reboot it if it's going nowhere, right?

And, second of all, this does indeed make me fear for Laura. Her origin is half the reason I love her. Rewriting it would be pointless, so if this is rewrites then it's good she's not on the list. But if her absence is more because she'll be dead, well...

That said, why Marvel would purposely throw out a major spoiler for an ongoing series like that (we know the two of those characters are among the last, if not the last, alive in Arena)...you'd assume they wouldn't. Not saying Alonso and editorial aren't completely out of their minds, but still.

The first time it would make sense for the first comment to say "first!" it doesn't. Bravo, CV.

Okay, first of all, there will be more than one survivor of Arena. Hopeless even said there will be more than one kid who lives.

You're foolishly assuming that there can only be one survivor.

I'm happy to see Hazmat on this. She is my favorite Academy kid.

I have to lend a guess based of the names, this will be a team up book featuring the FIRST time these characters have met each other, either through flashbacks or current meetings

Basically Brave and the bold meets Marvel Comics presents :)

I'd put my money on a reprinting of first character appearances like you say. But who knows for sure really?

That's exactly what I was thinking. This could be Marvel rebooting the origins of some of these characters.

Could it be indicative of the new Marvel universe that's supposed to happen after the events of Age of Ultron? Like a New 52 type thing? (who am I kidding? Of course it is...)

Wait, so sh*tty Hazmat from the sh*tty Avengers Academy gets a place amongst some of the well-know MU characters, but none of the New X-Men don't ? Excuse me ?

Anyways, Storm's there, and at the top, no less. So that's good.

I hope for almost anything but a reboot of some sort. It would seem pretty pointless and ill advised since they just started Marvel Now mainly. Hopefully it's just a first attempt and something that hasn't been done before or something that hasn't been done in a while. My wallet and time can't handle another reboot. I'm far enough behind as it is and it's only just begun. Please Marvel don't screw anything up.
