It really feels like the third movie is going to take Iron Man back to square one, in a sense. In the first film we saw Tony Stark (played by actor Robert Downey Jr.) literally become Iron Man. We watched as the character overcame odds and built the suit that turned him into a hero. In the second film, we watched him kick a lot of butt but as "top dog." In the third film it seems director Shane Black wants to take Stark back to his roots in the first film and place him at a disadvantage; at least that's what we've gathered from the recently released synopsis.

As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?
We already know that there's a good chance Black drew inspiration from IRON MAN: EXTREMIS, a story arc where Stark pushes the limits of the suit even further; so the last line in the synopsis is pretty telling. "Does the man make the suit, or does the suit make the man?"
Iron Man 3 is set to hit theaters on May 3rd, 2013 and will feature Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, Don Cheadle as James Rhodes, Ben Kingsley as the Mandarin and many more. Are you looking forward to the upcoming movie?
