Too many variants on this thing already. I say we all make a pact to not buy "The Death of Wolverine." If it sells low, Marvel may avoid these cheap stunts in the future.

Nah, I like collecting variants, but just the ones I like. I typically avoid sketch variants. I'll usually get a variant if it's by an artist I follow like Sara Pichelli for example.

@wolverine08: Me either. Marvel's pretty much went on the warpath to ensure I wouldn't buy into anything they put out

I'm not interested in their gimmicks in lieu of good storytelling.

i like how some people even after all this time haven't accepted the death of comic book characters as a part of the genre....... superheroes and supervillains die and come back, deal with it........... it's not a cheap gimmick, but something that has been around for years now and it will stay........ now it's all about waiting for yet another character to go through that

it's the same like with action movie stars and them facing clones.... everyone had such a movie

arnold schwarzenegger had a clone movie
jet li had a clone movie
jean claude van damme had a clone movie
sylvester stallone had a clone movie

and so did others

Cornell's replaced Wolverine with his younger, less self assured cousin Cornellrine!

Weird storyline that I think Marvel is trying to pretend never happened.

Wolverine's mutant healing factor brings him back.

Same here. Marvel has pretty much made me want to drop them all together. Thank god for IDW, Red 5, Boom! and Oni press. they have been putting out awesome titles.

@trodorne: I've been doing a lot of Valiant and DC lately. I'll have to check in with some of those publishers you mention, see if they are putting out any trades I'd find good.

Even though Quesada's a good artist, I'd still take anything Steve Mcniven does over him.

Joe Quesada is a good artist and a Horrible comic personality. He is a jerk. This man said, Zod was the Hero of man of steel. All he wanted to do was save his people....... What a delusional train of thought for one. secondly, I understand that he is a big dog at Marvel and Kudos for him but for him to just negatively talk crap about DC all because they wouldnt let him draw batman is kind of childish. He has good art and thahts about it.

For some reason, when I read this article, I took it as "the future death of Wolverine", like when he finally dies, many years from now - hence the weird costume.... of course I haven't followed Wolvie for quite some time so please forgive if I'm overlooking something that is common knowledge to everyone else who posted here.

(Ps) first ever post on this site, just joined... howdy.

@comicstooge: Don't be salty cause you ain't the best!

Wolverine isn't either. Y'know, considering he's a corpse and all (or at least going to be).

Seriously though, perhaps Wolverine's death might present something cool and fresh. Who knows?

Eh, I don't really think the best way to try spur off something new and fresh creatively speaking is by using a tired and overused gimmick like "death".
