'Marvel Knights: Inhumans' Trailer Debuts

The animated DVD from the Paul Jenkins/Jae Lee story is coming soon.

Did you read the Marvel Knights volume of INHUMANS by Paul Jenkins and Jae Lee? Shout! Factory is releasing a DVD featuring the Eisner-Award winning series.

The Inhumans have always been one of Marvel’s most enduring oddities. A race of genetic freaks, they live secluded in their island kingdom of Attilan, preferring not to mix with the outside world. Even stranger, their genetic mutations are self-endowed; each Inhuman, as a coming-of-age ritual, endures exposure to the Terrigan Mists, a strange substance that imparts unearthly powers, some extraordinary, some monstrous. But now the kingdom of Attilan is under attack from without and within. Can the Royal Family, led by Black Bolt (who cannot speak for his voice carries the destructive power of an atom bomb) repel the foreign invaders who blast at their outer defense, as well as the internal threat of Black Bolt's brother, Maximus the Mad?

The DVD will be released on April 23.

Bonus Features Include:

A Look Back At The Inhumans with Eisner Award-winning writer Paul Jenkins, Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada and Supervising Producer Kalia Cheng.

Total Feature Running Time: +/ – 132 minutes. Priced to own at $14.97

I did in fact read this volume. Made me like Black Bolt.

I haven't read the story but this looks intriguing.

Thought this was an animation for Marvel. Instead it's a motion comic. Marvel hasn't done an animated film in years, their last one was Planet Hulk.

@krypton_: Yeh because Planet Hulk turned out to be a giant flop

Seriously, what's the point? Why not just do the real animation instead of blowing money on half efforts, nobody wants to see this format. This is lazy of marvel, I wonder who approves this stuff. I actually thought I was going to see some quality Black Bolt action. What a drag!

I have the trade for this and still stare at the art from time to time. It's a good story and I'd recommend this only is you never read it and if you like the whole motion comics thing.

Edited by Renchamp

I may check this out since they are keeping Jae Lee's art. I hate that it's a motion comic, but I love that this is how Jae Lee can stay included.

I love the Inhumans and am a huge fan of Black Bolt and Medusa's relationship so i was excited to watch the trailer. A piece of me died though when I saw the animation. Guess DC is always going to remain the best at making animated movies.

Actually I've seen all of their motion comics and although i've already read the stories. I still like the motion comics.

Is this sarcasm or are you serious?

Marvel are still trying to promote a 50 years old animation technique

motion comics, bleh. How about I just take the money I might spend on this DVD, and spend it on the trade paperback instead? Wouldn't that make 1,000,000 times more sense?

I don't get it. Disney buys Marvel... DISNEY... DVD animated features seem like a no brainer. I'd rather watch the worst DC Animated DVD over the best motion comic.

Marvel, take notes from DC and stop animating like this. It looks like a poor documentary

Edited by Ramier

man i hate marvel animations.

@batnandez: Just because you don't know the team doesn't meant they're lame.

Well, you gotta like Motion Comics... And I'd prefer an animated feature about the Inhumans, but this is still better than nothing. I really like the characters and it's nice to see some kind of movie-like feature about a team that isn't that well known. And 132 minutes? Really?

Why take notes from the second place publisher? Someone has to be buying in to motion comics because they keep making them. It's not like Marvel hasn't had successful animated series or films. They don't need DC's help at all.

Because the "second place publisher" makes amazing animated films. I just don't like motion comics. They look lazy and cheap.

I have to agree with everything you stated here. Even the voice acting with the character screaming sounded lame. Not trying to be a hater by any means but this does not look promising.

Hmm I watched the Iron Man motion comic, was alright. Watched Thor and that thing sucked. Not sure if I am into motion comics.

So does the first place publisher. That's just not what this is. Why waste the money making a whole animated film when you can take a much smaller risk with a motion comic? This isn't the Avengers or one of Marvel's better known properties. DC makes motion comics too. I've seen Watchmen,Batgirl: Year One & Superman : Red Son. They do actual animated films for their more important characters. It's not lazy..but it IS cheap, but it's cheap for a reason.

@evilvegeta74: I think it looks cool. The 2 motion comics they have made out of the first two trades of Astonishing X-men were actually really good, if you like motion comics. I bought both of them. I believe they sold alright as well.

...... so even the Inhumans are gonna get a movie before Wonder Woman?

................... /disappointed

Posted by BoyWander

Ugh I hate Motion Comics... Might as well just buy the volume.

Posted by LordRequiem

This looks rubbish but that cannot take away the fact that Black Bolt is one of the best characters in Marvel.

Edited by doombot890

@jameskm716: its a motion comic. wonder woman already had a animated movie

Posted by Batnandez

@cafeterialoca: listen newb I know the inhumans I just think the animation is lame

Posted by doombot890

could someone tell me what storyline this is from so i can but the issues myself. hoping the artwork is as good as the trailer.

this is good for people who haven't read the story...but...come on marvel motion comics arent gonna cut it tin this world

I realize she had an animated movie. I'm referring to Live Action.

Wonder Woman has had nothing mentioned.

Feige mentioned the Inhumans as "interesting" (just like GotG) plus they're spotlighting in Infinity, which likely means their popping up a new book.

The signs are setting for them to continue on to the movies; just like Guardians of the Galaxy

I don't really see what Disney buying Marvel has to do with anything. Animated seems like a no brainer if Marvel had enough support for the Inhumans that enough will buy and they can recoup the money they spent making it.

Mehhhhhh

Posted by doombot890

why does this book cost 58£ !!!

Posted by Teerack

Omg yes! The Inhumans are the next marvel franchise that needs the Bendis treatment where he writes for a year or two and boom they're everyone favorite team.

been waiting for like three months for this. still 21 days to go!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Perfect 10

@doombot890: 1. its that good
2. as far as i know its out of print (came out in '97 i think) 3. ITS THAT GOOD.

Posted by RedX9

Why doesn't Marvel just do a full on animated movie than the motion comics? its annoying

Edited by wmwadeii

Not a fan of the motion comics myself, but like the others I will wait until its on Netflix

Posted by haydenclaireheroes

I am probably going to skip it

Posted by longbowhunter

I've always found the Inhumans to be one of Marvels most underrated fanchises. Rather just read the comic though. Hate motion comics.

Posted by BlueLantern1995

This is just a motion comic? I am going to skip.

Posted by Batnandez

@redx9: good question dc animation is way better

Posted by The Stegman

No. Don't like motion comics.

Posted by mtrakos

damn it! Not a live action movie. Not a cartoon movie. But instead a motion comic? No thanks. Marvel listens to its fans...

Posted by SmashBrawler

Inhumans was an amazing miniseries but I'm probably not getting this.

Posted by Onemoreposter

These Marvel Knights productions REALLY don't do it for me. Well, with the exception of the Black Panther series that was on BET a few years back, that was alright. I think the 15 minute run times really helped it not to get stale. Everything else though I find dry and lifeless and I would much rather read the actual comics.

Marvel needs to step it up with their animation department and do some actual animation instead of these "motion comics." To me, this just seems lazy.

Looks terrible.

I hate that motion comic crap...
