There were rumors flying around that Marvel Studios wanted Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones) to play as Drax, but apparently he wants more money than they're willing to offer. Because of this, MovieWeb claims the studio is now meeting with WWE superstar Dave Bautista about the cosmic role.
The only other big casting news surrounding the film is Chris Pratt (Zero Dark Thirty, Parks and Recreation) will play as Peter Quill aka Star-Lord. Directed by James Gunn, the film is scheduled to come out August 1st, 2014. Seeing as that's my birthday, I reaaaaaaally hope they stay on track with this one because if properly handled, this could be a hugely fun film.
