While there's been a few rumors about whether or not Elektra will appear in season 2 of Daredevil, which has already started filming, Marvel made the announcement on their website today that Elodie Yung has been cast to play the role of Elektra.
Elektra will be a mysterious woman from Matt Murdock's past who may be too much to handle. Yung will join Jon Bernthal (playing Frank Castle) as a new addition to the cast. Executive Producer and Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb, said that Yung is the perfect actress for the job and truly fits the role.
"Paired with Charlie as Matt Murdock, the two will bring one of the most beloved and tumultuous comic book relationships to life with all the accompanying sparks and spectacular action sequences the show is known for.”
