This is like the new era of Superhero movies for DC. The Dark Knight and Man of Steel are signature titles too. Its like they don't use "Batman" or "Superman" anymore. Anyhow, I am really excited for this movie. The trailer looks exceptional.

This and Injustice in one day. I don't know how my body is handling all of this amazingness

I've been eyeing the information about this movie warily. I saw the reveal of the costume and wasn't too sure, I heard about Lois Lane's actor and worried, I saw the first trailers and was concerned.

THEN I SAW THIS TRAILER AND BECAME SUPER EXCITED AND STARTED RUNNING AROUND MY HOUSE SHOUTING UP, UP, AND AWAY BECAUSE GOD-DAMN THAT SUPERMAN LOOKS AWESOME.

Superman is BACK.

  • Pa Kent made me cry (not a joke). Costner's delivery of his line was incredible.
  • Between him and Shannon's General Zod, I'm not sure who'll be walking away stealing the show.
  • Then you have Russel Crowe. The way he responds to Lara's concern with a simple "How" is insanely badass, and nails that character completely.
  • Krypton looks beautiful. Normally I find that aspect of the Superman mythos lackluster, but this tiny glimpse has me wanting more.
  • If this is Hans Zimmer's MoS score (and I think it is), I love it. The drum line and slow buildup are intense, yet inspire hope.
  • Hope. That's what the shield stands for, and I love Goyer for inserting that into the script.
  • A light touch of humor in that final scene is the cherry on top. Unlike Thor (which suffered from unnecessary comic relief), this trailer tells me that little moments will be sprinkled in just the right places, which is reassuring.
  • I hope to God they will call him "Superman."
  • The flight scenes looks so realistic, but the combat (aerial especially) has me the most interested. I believe the man can fly, but I want to believe his fist can blow holes in mountains. Given those last few seconds, my wish will be granted.

Overall, this is an excellent trailer, and was actually very emotional to me. At the end of the day, this movie isn't quite about super powers and capes, but about a lone being finding his way in a world of people who don't understand him, and that's the movie I've always wanted in regards to the character. Anyone who has ever felt alone in this world can absolutely relate to this character, and this film (given what we've been shown) will give us exactly that kind of feeling and bond to Superman.

I love this trailer, I'll love this movie, and I love this character more than just about anything.

Man of Steel will be phenomenal. Long live Superman.

Anyone looking forward to Iron Man 3 more than Man of Steel based purely on trailers is out of their minds. This looks awesome!

I have to say, I love how long his cape looks.

Now THAT is a trailer. I wasn't really convinced on the previous ones. But this is definitely a "Shut up and take my money!" kind of trailer.

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! OH I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

Also they FINALLY use the explanation for the S-shield in a movie!!!! I mean yes it's SHOWN as a Kryptonian symbol in the Christopher Reeve films and in Superman TAS, but now they're saying what it MEANS and that's just awesome!!

Looks like we'll finally be getting some real super-powered fights in a Superman movie. Also nice to see they don't seem to be trying to gritty Supes up at all. Hopefully they don't go TOO heavy on the Jesus metaphors though.

Still think the suit is needlessly busy, but that's a nitpick if the movie's good. It'll take a lot to topple the Avengers movie as my favorite superhero flick, but this trailer piques my interest a little higher.

Label me cautiously optimistic.

Kids, this is the story how Kick-Ass, Thor, Iron man, and Wolverine cried themselves to sleep.

Consider me officially hyped. I really hope this is the tone they go with for the DC franchise as a whole. It's serious without being grim or pretentious. There can be moments of humor, but there's an overarching sense of gravitas. I like what Marvel did with their movies, with the humor and the clever dialogue, but we don't need a replay of that from DC. If this is half as good as the trailer made it look, let's hope Warner Bros. can learn their lesson when its time for the Justice League, Green Lantern, Flash, Wonder Woman, and Batman movies.

THE GODFATHER OF SUPERHEROES IS BACK!!!!!

Edited by ltbrd

Very good trailer that I think helps ease the fear that this film is going to go to far into drama and emotion and leave out the action......that is clearly not the case.

Two big things I liked seeing; 1) Krypton is not an ice planet. It was a great visual for the first four films but its nice to see a more vibrant, beautiful Krypton which in many ways makes its destruction far worse and more impactful rather than an ice ball ripping apart. 2) the S stands for Hope. I would have gone with either that or simply stating its his family crest but at least its not him or his parent's coming up with it and coming to Metropolis calling himself Superman. Lois should always be the one to name him.

Can't wait for this film.

I know this off on a tangent, but does anyone here besides me think that this is one of Darkseid's better costumes?
