The question on everyone's minds this morning is whether or not George Lucas is planning a new Star Wars project; and it's no wonder considering the news that hit about Lucasfilm's latest trademark. Early last week Lucasfilm registered a trademark for 'Star Wars 1313,' giving them the rights to absolutely every form of entertainment associated with that name including video games, films, graphic novels, comic books and even toy helmets and toy snow globes. Yes, you read that right; snow globes.
So, what the heck is 'Star Wars 1313'? With only the trademark to go on and the fact that Lucasfilm has registered just about every form of entertainment under the sun associated with that name, there's not much else to say. That is, of course, with the exception that 'Star Wars 1313' will have something to do with Boba Fett's character.
According to a page on Wikia, Boba Fett once referred to himself as the alias CT-1313 when he was once "confronted by a clone trooper" on Aargau. This little tidbit appeared in the Scholastic Boba Fett series by Elizabeth Hand, and is therefore not necessarily considered "true Star Wars canon." This is pretty much the main reason we prefer to discredit this idea that Star Wars 1313 will have something to do with Boba Fett -- it just seems unlikely that Lucas would dedicate so much effort into a concept that appeared in one of the Star Wars off-shoot novels. History has taught us that Lucas likes to have his creative hand in control of just about everything Star Wars related.
== TEASER ==The idea of a Boba Fett live-action movie -- or anything related to the character isn't a new idea. In fact, last summer Captain America: The First Avenger director Joe Johnston stated that he would definitely be interested in bringing Boba Fett to the big screen.
“You know if he wants to see it, I would show it to him. I’m trying to get George to make a feature based on Boba Fett.”
This isn't the first time we've seen Joe Johnston's name attached to Boba Fett -- in fact it's something we mentioned last summer. So Is 'Star Wars 1313' Johnston's project coming into full realization, or is that just wishful thinking on everybody's part? Johnston was, after all, an integral part of bringing Boba Fett to life, and the character definitely caught on with fans. Even with minimal time on-screen, Boba Fett is still a very popular character, so expounding on that popularity wouldn't be a bad idea. Still, could 'Star Wars 1313' be a Boba Fett movie, video game, animated series, graphic novel or even a snow globe? That remains to be seen. What do you think 'Star Wars 1313' will be about?
