So SHH is saying that Morgan Lily, the lil’ girl from 2012, is going to play lil’ Mystique in X-MEN: FIRST CLASS and I’ve officially run out of ways to say that the casting announcements for this movie are crazy. Sooner or later, they’re going to say I’m in this movie. Anyway, seeing as how Jennifer Lawrence is going to playing the older Mystique in this movie (although still younger than the one we’ve seen in the previous movies,) I’m presuming this will start with some prologue of her childhood like they did for Angel in THE LAST STAND. Or there might just be a lot of time travel in this movie, as I've speculated before.
Considering that Azazel’s in this movie, too, I’m guessing that they’re actually going down the route of making her Nightcrawler’s estranged mother. I remember watching Kurt ‘n Raven’s campside scene in X2 - - the one where he asks why she doesn’t change shape all the time - - and wondering if the crew intended there to be a mother/son subtext. The family ties and six degrees of separation in the mutant universe are so complex, I really didn’t fault them for excising that bit - - their relationship was just way too complicated to broach in one movie. But I suppose four or five movies allows for enough room to comfortably delve? Hell… maybe they’ll even touch on her stepmotherly relationship to Rogue too? Ahhhhh…! == TEASER ==
Continuing my speculation, I doubt they’re going to make Azazel an actual demon in this Nightcrawler-producing tryst. He’ll probably just be a demonic-looking mutant. Unless they're really going to make this as fantastical as the comics. At the point, I'd wonder how long it'd be before the Shi'ar showed up.
