Lex Luthor Becomes the Justice League's Newest Member

Well, we saw a president Lex Luthor and that motivation was crap. So...

@sun_pusher: Just voicing my own opinion. Personally I think DC's quality in comics has gone down significantly over the past year or so, and having two villains join the league isn't going to last too long.

Also, there are plenty of other comments in here of users saying they disagree with this change, so maybe you should be attacking them as well and not just me. If you don't like me voicing my opinion, then don't disrespectfully respond back to me calling my opinion "crap".

Haven't read Forever Evil yet, what with the tie-ins (Arkham War, A.R.G.U.S., Rogues Rebellion), I prefer to marathon-read the whole story in one sit. This Lex's business happened at the end of FE, right? Well, I better start soon, don't wanna get spoiled now.

Heh, I never thought I'd see Captain Cold and Lex Luthor in JL. Kinda cool, though.

This is surprising! Though I do wish they did more adventures with the main 7 members before they did this. Wonder if this will lead to a Lex Luthor ongoing and how Superman will react. Also I am kinda iffy with seeing Captain Cold. I would rather see him stick with the Rogues. Also I haven't been reading any Forever Evil, but what happened to Cold's Subzero arms? If they are giving Captain Cold his freeze guns look back I hope to see a return of the more classic parka look.

Well, that makes Lex my new favorite Justice League character. Funny, my two favorite JLA members are Cyborg and Lex, which have both been added rather recently. I FULLY support this new, badass roster!

This could be good but weird. I don't really have any high hopes for the Batman and Lex Luthor interaction(cause Geoff Johns does not know how to write Batman well)

I wonder if some of the people commenting saying how "dumb this is" are even reading FE....sounds to me like they just see the headline and are like "WHAT, Lex Luthor a hero?!" Not exactly if you've been reading it, besides anyone who knows Lex knows he's not the "destroy the world for power" kind of villian but more of a "making the world better in my image" kind of villian.

I'm sure Batman and Lex will bump heads so I'm very curious to see this as I'm loving FE!

Lex and Captain Cold working with the Justice League? Wow this could be good.

However I do want to see a Rogues ongoing and Cold getting his powers back.

This could be the Lex from Earhth 3. The Crime Syndecate did bring someone over with them.

That's my main concern too and it seems it will start in their own book then shown some in Justice League, don't know if in the current arc or the next.

Cool but I kind of like Captain Cold with powers but still cool, Lex might add quite a bit to the series but wheres Superman?

It would be better if Lex could somehow transfer his conscience and memories to Superman's brain and become the new Superman. A Superior Superman.

I wonder what will happen to Supes and Flash. Maybe they went off to different universes? IF this happened, then Wally West can replace Barry Allen.

Are you pulling from some of the ideas that have been hanging around since Smallvillle on the WB that Lex is just misunderstand and only did all he has done out of some miss guided idea that Superman would cause the end of earth as we know it. Or the idea that he just did it out of fun and a need to prove himself.... and now he has grow-up.... do a life change and now want to prove himself through being earth's greatest hero......

Is it possible to have a main Justice League team without Superman?

I'm stoked for this to be honest. Luthor is one of my favorite DC characters even though I'm not a huge Supes fan. I love it when Lex goes full anti-villain. He's obviously up to no good but he's completely legit until someone catches him doing something super shady which is how it kind of always goes for him. Whatever maybe this time he'll stick to the side of good for a while. He's a man who wants to progress mankind as oppose to relying completely on heroes. He's also a slimy lying scumbag who would sell out anyone who crosses him.

I'm especially excited to see his interaction with Diana. It's sure to be hilarious given how much of an alpha male he is. I'm not saying I want him to disrespect her but he needs to learn the hard way that you don't cross a warrior goddess that Batman doesn't have a contingency for. So I say why not? Who would have thought that Magneto would be a good-ish guy with ulterior motives today? There are plenty of threats to humanity that Lex could help with his genius.

@lordofthenorth: I was joking. I actually believe them to be equals, yet Lex's ego makes him weaker and flawed. Batman is simply wiser and realizes the folly of underestimation of ones opponent.

Completely agree. Johns has been doing a pretty stellar job with Luthor in Forever Evil and I'm excited to see where this goes. In fact, I'll be even more excited if Luthor's turn here winds up being genuine and not simply a means to an end (some power play, for instance).

I just hope he doesn't get a sh*tty and totally plagiarized new costume, like Osborn did.

To your first point - yeah, that would stink.

To your second - I don't agree that having Lex on the team makes Batman's position arbitrary. Not at all. It just means you have one egotistical, power-hungry smart guy versus the selfless, always prepared smart guy.

This could be interesting. Justice League is painfully unambitious book when not embroiled in some crossover event, this could be a nice wrench in the works.
