Kickstarter Alert: ATLANTIS: THE LAST SURVIVOR

Check out this Kickstarter project featuring art by Denis Medri.

There are many great projects trying to get funded on Kickstarter. Every once in a while, we turn our attention to one to help spread the word. A recent one we came across is ATLANTIS: THE LAST SURVIVOR. Written by Arin Leviti, the art is by Denis Medri. You may recognize Medri's art from his past work, plus his movie/TV character drawings and Rockabilly Batman pics on many past editions of Awesome Art Picks.

What is the story about?

There is a video on the Kickstarter project page where you can find out more.

Slated as an interactive graphic novel, the art will come alive as you progress through the story. Medri has added his style to the characters and you can get a sense of the feel of the story.

Here's the synopsis given:

In the last days of Atlantis, a handful of men fight to save humankind from extinction. Atlantis has conquered almost the whole world but its people have forgotten the roots of their power, the flux. This life-giving energy once sustained humans and gods alike, and united them on earth.

A religious tyrant, the High Priestess, abused the powers of the flux to enslave the population and expand her power. As the energy was poisoned, the gods fled earth and nature turned against the land.

Agathon, the son of a member of the resistance, witnesses the murder of his parents at the hands of the High Priestess. He is then kidnapped and taken to the capital where he discovers that everything his parents have taught him about the flux is true. His only hope now rests on the demi-goddess, Phile, and Temacles, a member of the resistance who has infiltrated the oligarchy.

Agathon and Phile, united by their love for each other and the hope for a new beginning, fight a battle against time to restore the flux, overthrow the High Priestess and save Atlantis from itself.

When you visit the Kickstarter page, you'll notice it's not in immediate U.S. dollars (something that's not a problem for our overseas friends). There is a link to a converter plus the different packages available show U.S. prices. If you pay with Paypal or through your Amazon account, it should do the converting for you!

Check out the project. This is your chance to try something new.
