The movie won't be out until next April but it looks like we can expect a Kick-Ass 2.

Is this news Kick-Ass?  I may have mentioned once or twice how much I enjoy the Kick-Ass comic.  It's a simple premise but it works.  You have a young lad named Dave who loves comics and superheroes.  He gets the idea to become a hero himself.  It turns out the real world is a crazy violent place.

When word came out that Mark Millar and John Romita Jr's comic was being made into a movie directed by Matthew Vaughn, I was overjoyed.  Now we know that Lionsgate will be distributing the movie and it will be released next April.

Mark Millar recently spoke with MTV and revealed that we can expect more after this movie.

There's a basic plot. The series ends on a teaser for the next one, and the movie ends on that teaser, too.

We don't want to sound too cocky, but we know this is good. It didn't cost that much money to make. There will definitely be another one.

It's not known if Vaughn would direct the sequel or if Lionsgate will distribute it.  Disney may decide to distribute it themselves.  Regardless, Millar is certain the sequel will happen.

This is very kick-ass news indeed.

With issue #8, we will see the end of the first storyline.  That's not the end of Kick-Ass though.  At San Diego Comic-Con, I live-blogged the Kick-Ass Panel and Millar said he has the idea of three "graphic novels."  We can expect more fun in the future.
