Kevin Smith Prasies Ben Affleck's Batsuit

someone stated its the batman noel costume but more like latex gray

It's safe to guess its not all black so gray with blue or with black seems to be the idea.

Nope its not based on TDKR suit, Smith and Snyder said that they are not doing TDKR, and some fan who was on the set said the bleep was Jim Lee, so they are either going for Hush or New 52 suit.

Well considering Kevin Smith is a fanboy at first I'm like "eh we'll see". I mean how reliable is he as he's all in for this thing from the get go.

But another part of me really wants this to be true and also really respects and likes Kevin Smith. I listen to his Fatman on Batman podcast sometimes too.

So yeah. Moral of the story is I'm excited. I'm thinking it's a gray suit with the black cape and cowl. Like in the comics. That's the look I personally was hoping for.

Who knows, could be Frank Miller style. Smith is a big fan of TDK Retrns so it could be.

Eh, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I can only it looks great to me. I'm hoping it's going to be like the New 52 suit.

I agree. DC need to quickly get all their different parts of the justice league on film and using modern costumes like the ones you mention will help younger people connect with the character they've seen in video games or modern comics.

I don't understand why people are giving Kevin Smith shit for stating his opinion. Whether you like him or not as a director or an actor or a human being, he is first and foremost a fan-boy, just like everyone on this page is. If he came out and stated he hated the new batman suit these same people would still be saying he doesn't know what he's talking about. Couldn't care less. Kevin Smith is no indication of taste, he's a guy who opts to go everywhere in a jersey. He's a disgrace to us all, he makes any comic book consumer look like a hanger-on who relishes in looking pathetic.

DUH he's a flag-waver for this movie, Affleck is ticket into superhero movies via nepotism. Certainly not by talent.

i really dont believe any comic film will ever reach 2 billion. i believe thats a huge stretch. if i remember correctly titanic 3d made 2 billion. just making 1 billion alone for that genre is fantastic whoever the company is

Iron Man 3 made a billion plus,and it's a mediocre film,politelly saying.....If this is done good,it'll make 2 billion,just for fun....

They didn't make it "movie-like". They made it look like it was something that was put together. Multiple pieces forming something whole. The Bat Suit in Origins is somewhat of a makeshift suit and isn't the complete "one-piece" light-weight suit that Bruce has in Asylum and onwards.

One piece of continuity they caught right! :P

If it's Kevin Smith (probably the biggest Batfan on Earth) saying that it's a suit we've never seen before, then I must assume that the suit is vastly different than anything we've ever seen. Most of the suits we've seen on film have been somewhat identical.

Kevin Smith wears "Jorts" still. His opinion is invalid when it comes to anything that involves fashion. Not to mention he's pretty good friends with Batfleck so it's not like he's going to say something negative.

Ugh, terrible news... my friends and I are all prepared to boycott this film if Affleck was confirmed as Batman; I was so hoping the whole Ben Affleck thing was just a bad rumor, guess not.

Some time I think WB/DC execs said to themselves 'we need a vet actor to be the lynchpin for this new universe we are creating, Marvel hired a old washed up actor to be there millionaire gadget guy and it turned out great so we should do the same. I know, Ben Affleck!!!!'

I also like the Origin's Batsuit if it looks something close to that I will be very happy.

It's probably inspired by Batman Beyond in some way, with a bold red sleek bat symbol, maybe even capeless. Unlikely, but possibly even having no visible chin or eyes (just white). That would fit all of Smith's descriptions, especially his "all-black" comment, while also falling into line with the not-really-concept art that at least suggests the direction they may go, and would also ultimately be disappointing and slightly cringe-inducing (because it's a Snyder film, after all). That's my bet.

there's really only 2 ways this can go. either more lightweight body armour (yes please) or more armour making it look more robotic and transformer-like. no thanks. since he claims no one has done anything like this before, i'm guessing he thinks transformer-like is what the fans want to see. eff that.

So, we're sure he's not wearing black armor this time? Because if he's not then I have absolutely no doubts that this will be the best movie ever.

I am more worried than ever. I like the flexible, armored Batsuit in the Dark Knight.
